Hi-newbie here! Is ROFR only an "issue" if you buy resale? I am assuming that is but wanted to make sure.

From what I understand Disney has the last say. If the offer is to low that will buy it back. Hope this helps

Yep, resales are the only ones to go through ROFR. Not an issue with direct buy

It's not the only issue when buying DVC resale but it definitely is one of the biggest hurdles you have to clear.

I've been on the DIS for years, and a DVC member for years. I have NO clue what ROFR stands for??? Don't beat me anyone!

Tony, it stands for Right Of First Refusal, where Disney gets to look at the contract and buy it back themselves if the offer is too low.

For me it was the biggest issue for buying resale... so hard to wait that long.
