So we have only just received our membership number on our first DVC contract and we have already decided to add on! We have just returned from a stay at BCR and DH loved it so wanted a small add on. There was only one 50 point contract on the market so here we go:

Just an update, received closing docs today!!!! Broker said we are on track to close earlier than originally we were told. I'm hoping to have this all done before Christmas!

Has anyone had any dealings First American Title ?

That's who we are using for the SSR we are currently in the process of buying. Our ROFR was waived on 11/23 and we received our closing docs today. I think we probably would have gotten them sooner if last week wasn't a holiday week.

I assume I can request the agent I am working with to use a specific title company. I understand that First American is slightly higher (nothing on a scale of the purchase), but the service you get is well worth the cost.

Yes, you can definitely request what title company you want to use. You also are not bound to the agent you were currently using. When looking for a new contract make sure you check the search engine and go with whatever listing meets your needs, which may or may not be with the same listing agent as the one that just got rofr'd.

Yes, we are getting great service. My emails have been answered in a very timely manner. I send back my signed closing docs today and wired the money and she emailed back and said they were just waiting for the seller to submit his signed docs and then this will be finalized. Our original close date was 1/8 but we are on tract to close much sooner.

As of now, I highly recommend using First American.

I know this is an ROFR thread, but how long has everyone's Estoppel period usually taken? Ours is at 6.5 weeks. I'm starting to get annoyed!

Ours took 6 days.

I think since the ROFR has been so quick lately there is a back-up in getting the closing docs ready. The total time from offer to close should be about the same though.
