LOL. After the mess they've created with OKW vs. OKW-E, I doubt they're going to do extensions again. At least not in the same way. But Feb 1, 2042, they'll have a huge amount of DVC inventory on their hands. It is 16.5 years away, but they'll need some kind of plan to handle it. Most DVC owners don't want to pay rack rates for rooms. But this ROFR activity is definitely interesting.

Yeah the OKW was a cluster.. but I will hold out hope of some sort offering for existing owners.

Can it just be they ran out of Dec contracts this month?

Or maybe a “ unit” thing?

The thing is that VGCGroupie passed ROFR in the past week, so they either took a much higher priced contract in same UY while it was pending OR within a couple days after passing it.
I lean team “monkeys throwing darts”— but if there is a strategy, it’s not buying points as cheap as possible— remember friends, Disney has a record of ALL prices paid, not just our ROFR thread. They almost certainly knew other contracts in the $110s (if not 100s) were coming.

I would be surprised if anything significant is offered unless WDW or the economy generally is struggling in the early 2040s. In that case, maybe there’s some sort of paid short term extension or significant discount on next contract, but even if things are looking dire, I seriously doubt that it’s just a straightforward “would you like another 15 years of ownership?”

Actually, the more I think about it, the more certain I am that they will reset point charts in 2042 no matter what, which would preclude even a paid extension, I think?
