ROFR Thread Jan to March 2026 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Yeah I'm just pointing out that they would get 2025 too because we're still in the June 2025 use year. To be clear, I'm not trying to comment about whether it's right or not to give unsolicited advice about a purchase. That fire is going just fine and doesn't need more lighter fluid lol.
I wish I could do the thumbs up and laughing emoji on that comment!

There are a lot of deals here I dont think are good but I say nothing. I only say something ones that are exceptionally bad where its possible buyer really needs to know what they set themself up for. For instance when you overpay plus it's a delayed closing (not referring to this most recent one), I really think a novice needs to know potential ramifications of a delayed close plus overpaying. Or there are some new buyers that may not know the value difference of OKW vs OKWE. This last instance people really just saw the dollar amount being spent and the fact that it was very stripped. Thats a ton of money to spend to not have someone point out the value of stripped vs non stripped contracts. The poster had ran the numbers which is great and took advice graciously.
This
Thats really what we should all be asking for. Civility and trying to help one another out.
Very much agree!!

For the record, I never once said the buyer should rescind. I said they should “*really* consider looking over this one in detail before your rescission period ends.”

Meaning: do a once or twice over before you can’t and are locked in. Make certain this is the deal you want. There are compromises with every purchase.
Yep, constructive criticism is key!!

When I saw a 1000 pointer, my first thought is how jealous I am because I don't have over $100k to drop in one fell swoop. That would be so amazing!
Was my thought too, would be amazing to be able to even make that offer.!!

DrOPS---$144-$25601-160-VGF-Dec-0/24, 212/25, 160/26, 160/27- sent 3/16, passed 3/23

I’m absolutely thrilled as we passed ROFR in just 7 days at VGF. I was half expecting Disney to snap up the contract but so happy we passed. The extra points available will be put to very good use !

The information on here has been absolutely invaluable. I waited until a contract with a good amount of points included became available and offered.

Thanks all 😀🌟

I’m just at a loss as to whether I should comment further in the future in this thread; I feel like my initial comment generated a huge firestorm but also didn’t say what it was purported to say.

Each contract has its own unique risks. I do feel that when the buyers are the ones taking on much larger risks, they should be given steeper discounts for each risk. Since the rescission period is just ten days, you really want to ensure you are ok with those risks at that price before the rescission period is up.

I don't think it was your comment alone. Others, including myself, were offering input where non was asked for. I just waited until someone else opened the door :-). And, your post said things many of the rest of us were thinking. IMO, I value your thoughts and feedback, and I think you should continue to offer it as you see appropriate. Yes, others are free to say what they want in return, including, hey guys, I'm not sure the poster is asking for our input. I think @VGCgroupie put it well in one her posts - when you post something online, you are implicitly inviting feedback. Of course, we all like this community, and I think want the ROFR thread to continue, so I don't think we want this to turn into a judging contest for each deal posted, but I don't personally think it has become quite that bad.

Now... How long until Disney sets up my account! :)

Speaking quickly to the other matter about when/what to say about other people's deals; I found a lot of value in the analysis of the 1100 point contract. Lots of things were brought up that I hadn't considered. Although it was not my deal, I learned a lot. Please keep doing that with all of the deals :) As long as it's polite, I think it adds a ton of value to your (our, now?) forums.

So excited!!! First purchase!

Congrats! Have to ask a question though since I’ve seen it in the past but never really considered it.

Where did the extra 150 points come from in 2026?

We all have different ways to evaluate a contract and whether we personally would purchase or not.

It’s just important to realize that when people apply their own way to someone else’s purchase, it seems there an assumption the buyer is uniformed in some way and that they would benefit/need that analysis to ensure they are making a good choice, even when the buyer didn’t ask for someone to analyze it.

The intent of the thread is different now, and that is fine, but I think it’s important for everyone to realize that purchases are not being shared by some posters because of the shift.

There are plenty of posters who do ask for advice and plenty of threads that discuss analysis so plenty of opportunities to share.

But, to everyone, let’s move on since, as I mentioned, as long as posts follow the rules of the board, everyone is free to post.

The ones in 2025 are banked from 2024. The ones in 2026 are banked 2025 and the regular 2026 points.
