ROFR Thread April to June 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

I think a lot of it comes from west coasters who went there as a child. Im not sure how or what it is but the music and ambiance at DLR just hits differently for me at DLR. It's not ride specific.
I think that's definitely one of the bigger influences, it's the nostalgia. I'm a west coasters but WDW has my heart, fully. Same reason, nostalgia. I was a CM there, and before that WDW was my first ever Disney park. I love being in the bubble and DLR doesn't have that. I always say, for me DLR is a quick fix until I can get to WDW. DLR also doesn't hit me the same way, but I'm still very happy it's there.

They really cleaned up with that sale. People who never would have wanted OKW bought a crap ton of OKW. It makes so much sense to do it again and also flip as many 2042's to 2057's as they can.
If they did it again, I would consider it, but the dues do scare me. I'd have to do the math to determine where the break even point would be compared to buying another resort direct, or if it would ever occur.

I am an absolutely no to OKW but I did try to buy at the end but they were sold out. At that point it made sense to get blue card, now that I have a blue card it would likely not be worth it. If it goes on sale I will post my spreadsheet results for all to see when comparing it to other resorts. The results still shock me when I put things in and Ive been using this spreadsheet awhile now.

When we did the math last time, it didn't work out (also considering I'd prefer my direct contract to be at a resort I'd actually use regularly, versus SAP). I can't say I wasn't seriously tempted, though.

I say post it now, give me a day to run the numbers before new incentives come out! 😜

Woohooo! 🥳 So excited to soon be a DVC owner at AKL and AUL! 🥰

410 points per year is enough to start out for a family of 4, right? 🤭
Having bought a loaded contract with all those extra points could get you in trouble! Joking aside 410 should for sure be enough :)

Haha! I can’t lie, I’m a bit worried about that! Especially considering my AKL contract is also loaded with banked points that expire end of July then has double points for 2025 too 🤭 but I’m telling myself these extra points are only for my hubby and I’s 30th birthday celebrations this year and we shouldn’t get used to having that many moving forward. But we’ll see how long that mentality lasts, LOL!

It was 150 pts at $117, but it had all 2024 pts banked.
This is my simple spreadsheet that just calculates it as if dues stay the same throughout the life. It's just easy to look at and see right away what your financial impact is. I do have sheets that calculate cost of owning after 5, 10, 15 years. I have one that has a scale for dues increases but nobody knows for sure how dues will trend.

This one is your RIV vs if OKW offered the same incentives as last year (not factoring in banked points, but an OKW direct could also yield in extra points too)

This one for fun I did the sweet spot for OKW incentives at 300 points vs resale of 300 at SSR and 300 resale OKWe at $90pp

This is amazing, thank you 😊 Really we just have to decide how much we would value blue card status. FOMO sometimes makes me look twice at fiscal responsibility.

I would love if you could just post all of your spreadsheets lol
