too late.... lol! I can't believe it can get so "messy"! This is our first DVC purchase. Have you done this before?

A few times, yes . We own five contracts at the moment. I like to keep things in flux based on our current likes and needs.

In all fairness, we had contracts from offer to points loaded in the past in just over 50 days. The current state of affairs is fairly new- since about February I believe. I keep hoping for all that have a horse in the race at the moment that they will catch up, but it seems to be getting a bit slower in actuality.

If it starts seeming like the wait is unbearable at any stage, just think about how many decades of great trips you are investing in, and the few months at the start won't seem so bad .

good luck! not a bad price considering you have banked points and all points for this year. It's a long process but worth it in the end. Look at it this way, it may take longer but you are paying half the cost

5!! Wow! you're living my dream! lol ..... This hasn't even happened yet and my hubby already thinks we need more points! haha
May I ask you then, from your experiences .......we have plans to go to WDW in Jan. 2016. Do you think we will be able to take that trip as DVC members? Will there even be rooms available if we are trying to book only 3-2 mos in advanced?? This is what worries me! Thanks again!

I totally get it and purchasing my resale recently have tested my patience to the max. it was pure agony! I'm with your dh, I already want to add more, actually I wanted to add even before my contract had passed ROFR. I'm just waiting for the perfect AKL contract to come by LOl 160 pts is not enough for a family of 6 going annually but it was a good contract to get my feet wet.

Our contract was sent to ROFR on March 19 and we received a letter from Disney with member number dated of June 28 around July 9 and full DVC package last Friday. i'm guessing if all goes right, you should have all your stuff by Nov. i'm pretty sure you will be able to find something for your trip depending when your trip is in January and if no special event is going on. i'm guessing you will find something at AKL or SSR but might have to do a split stay. also you might be out of standard view and only have the more expensive ones available to you. I would plan for a backup plan and worse cancel when you get your DVC reservation

Every year is different and the availability is constantly in flux, but if you don't mind where you land and are open to a split stay I see no reason that you wouldn't be able to toast to your new DVC ownership there in January

I agree I have been looking for 2 months. This is a great contract... I wish I could find one like it!
