ROFR News

Since the previous thread is getting quite large, I thought I would start a new one.

We went to ROFR last week on the resale we are purchasing:

150 points VWL
August Use Year
All 2004 points available
$74/point, buyer pays 2004 MF, closing costs
Seller pays transfer fee

Broker says that it will probably take 2-3 weeks to get through ROFR. He also said Disney will collect 2005 MF on closing. Is this typical?

Don't know if it's typical, but is it possible that the broker expects this sale to close in 2005? 2005 isn't all that far away anymore. It does seem appropriate for Disney to ask for 2005 MF if that is the case.

Just heard we passed ROFR. It took about a week.

We are going to be new DVC owners.

dizplanner, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! We recently closed on 250 VWL points. August UY and all 04 points were there and all 05 coming! We also went through ROFR very quickly, I am surprised that Disney is not buying these back. We paid 75$ per point, you got a good deal. Looks like you will close in 04. Now we would like to add-on to our 160 BCV points that we bought through Disney. DH says he would like to make them even, but BCV points seem to be few and far between. We are both lucky to be VWL owners!! Lacee

Congratulations!!!! That's wonderful news. We just went ROFR this week (Tuesday?) so we're anxiously waiting to hear from Disney. Here are our details:

150 points BCV
February Use Year
40 2004 points available, all 2005
$79/point, buyer pays 2005 MF, closing costs
Seller pays 2004 MF and transfer fees

As BCV points are few and far between, we are pretty happy finding a contract with any 2004 points available.

Congratulations dizplanner! We passed ROFR on 10/7 and just got our DVC cards in the mail today (even though they're faulty and I'll have to call MS on Monday).

micks, I'm sure you'll pass. We bought 170 BCV at $78 point and passed ROFR on 10/7. We love BCV, too! Can't wait for our first trip home (a year from now).
