My DVC just sold. If DVC exercises ROFR, what does that mean for me as the seller?

If Disney exercises ROFR, they will purchase the contract at the same terms you had with the buyer.

As the seller, you will receive the same thing agreed to in the offer from your buyer. If you used a resale broker, their commission will be paid from the proceeds whether purchased by Disney or by the seller who made the offer.

This is one reason we sometimes see listings with lower-than-usual asking prices since motivated sellers realize that the most important component in the process is to have a legitimate offer to submit to ROFR. If it's a low asking price, there is an increased chance that someone will makee an offer and then the pressure is on DVC to either exercise ROFR or allow it to go thru. In either situation, the seller will get the exact same amount at closing and, if ROFR has been exercised, the buyer will get any deposit returned and then just needs to begin the process again.

Congrats on your sale.
