Rocn n' Roll Birthday Party Ideas

I posted this on the community board, but within about 3 minutes it was on page 2, so I figured I'd post here too!


Hey all -

I have a party coming up where my client wants a rock 'n roll themed birthday party for her husbands 60th. Do you have any ideas? I want to do something with records (the actual vinyls and the covers too maybe), but can't think of anything good. They DO NOT want it to be a sock hop - nothing 50s! He likes The Who, Beatles, Stones, etc. There will be about 100 people - we are not allowed to put anything on the walls.... thats about all I can think of.

Hmmm. . .

Not sure how you are decorating but if you are doing balloons on tables you could put the strings from the balloons through the hole in the center of the record and tie them to a weight underneath. They probably have musical note confetti that you could sprinkle on the tables too.

Are they giving out party favors? If so, something easy and pretty cheap would be to burn cd's with his top ten favorite rock songs. Cd's are cheap and you could make custom labels for them.

Are you playing any games? You could use the album covers for a game. Maybe you could black out the album name on the cover and see how many album names people can come up with just by looking at the cover art.
