Okay fellow disboard friends, I need your help! I'm trying to build up the nerve to go on Rock N Roller Coaster this year while on my honeymoon. My fiance and I have been to WDW twice together and are looking for new things to try....So...

My question to you: Which is scarier or more thrilling, Rock N Roller Coaster or Revenge of the Mummy at US?

The reason I ask is that I've been on Revenge of the Mummy before and LOVE it so I'm wondering if I can now handle Rock N Roller Coaster????

I've never been on a coaster that goes upside down before either...Although, I've heard it goes by so quick you don't even notice it. Is that right?

Agghhh, I'm getting nervous butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it.

Thanks for any and all input! You guys seriously rock! :worship:

RnR has loops but Mummy does not. Since I don't think loops are that great, I would say Mummy is a much more intense ride.

There's more going on in terms of story line in Mummy, but as a coaster it is not much at all. RnR is much faster and a true roller coaster experience. You go from 0-60 in just a few seconds to start the ride and do three inversions during the course of the ride, so it's a pretty intense--if relatively short--coaster experience.

In my Great Grandmother experience, I think Revenge is the rougher of the two. I don't think you will have any problem with Rock N. One thing about Rock N, if you don't like it, it is over quickly.

If you love the Mummy, I think you will like RNR. I am a converted "coaster whimp" and I can tell you it took a lot for me to go on RNR...like 6 WDW trips worth of building up to....

Last trip to WDW I went on RNR 7 times...in a row. It it my first inversion coaster and I don't find it bad at all. Since it is so dark you really don't see it coming. Plus, RNR seems WAY shorter then Mummy so even if you don't like it, realize it will be over quite quickly.

Go for it.

RnR is a much smoother ride. Mummy is definitely "scarier" because the ride has fear built into the theme. RnR is a thrill ride, but one that doesn't try to induce any fear.

It's hard to compare the two directly, but I think if you can do one you can do the other -- unless you have a thing against inversions (RnR has them, Mummy doesn't).

RnR does have 1 loop and two roll inversions but they are not intense at all. Very smooth, your body doesn't really feel much. There are no steep drops, its mostly fairly flat like Mummy is. The ride is VERY short, its over when you just start to have fun!

Everest is the coaster that gets me bad during the backwards turn. I get a bit dizzy every time but love the ride. No such 'whoa' feeling on RnR.

Those are my 2 favorite rides at each park. I think if you can handle The Mummy, you can definitely handle and like RnRC!! You only live once...give it a shot!! You won't regret it!!

My opinion is quite a bit different from those posted already. I love The Mummy, but RNRC makes me sick. The Mummy is so tame, the thrill is really in the special effects of the ride. Rockin' Rollercoaster launches you out at a speed that makes me feel like I'm going to throw up every time I ride it. The rest of the ride is great, but I would still say it's much wilder than The Mummy (although it could be my perception is off after feeling like vomiting for 3 seconds). RNRC is the only ride that launches you quickly that makes me feel sick, maybe because it's inside?

I love both..RNR is smoother though.Mummy is much better theming and a better ride.

This is me too. I can't handle rides that have launches.
That said, the only ride that my DD has ever cried on is Mummy - she can do loop roller coasters, Forbidden Journey, Expedition Everest etc... Mummy freaked her out.:confused3She would take RNRC over Mummy any day.:goodvibes

Is Mummy different at USO than USH? I have only been to USH. Mummy at USH starts out very slow, and then launches you from 0 to 40 in seconds with a top speed of just under 50mph according to CM's there. RnR has a top speed of 55mph, so slightly faster.

On your honeymoon and looking for new things to try and we're talking about rollercoasters? What is happening to the youth of today?

lol

i think RnR is a little more intense just because it starts you off right out and is faster. like most people said, RnR is so short that its really not that bad. on my first ride i found the anticipation is far worse than the ride... as long as you arent easily susceptible to motion sickness bite the bullet, hold on for dear life and go for it! once you hit 60 mph the adrenaline will make the rest of the ride seem like cake.

I think RnR is more intense the Mummy but if you loved Mummy I don't think you'll have a problem on RnR (although that start makes your stomach drop a little the first time if you've never been on a roller coaster that starts like that.

As for the loops, I don't think your body ever registers being upside down because the forces push you down into your seat so much.

It's a great ride - go for it.
