Roam Free Rates to the US? Maybe soon

I don't see how this is a good deal? For a month pkg it's $60. And you either have to buy a sim card, and have an unlocked cell, or buy a roaming device? Not sure what that is. Another name for cell phone? It doesn't seem any cheaper then buying a Walmart U.S. cell phone.

Funny, I'm leaving for the states on Jan 16! I had to put a $40 unlimited texting roaming pkg, and a $20 voice plan on my iPhone from Telus. Pretty much the same amount this company is charging for a month.

Plus we're still stuck with our regular monthly bill too. I think it would be great if Bell, Rodgers & Telus would just negotiate better deals with their U.S. roaming partners!

Currently Wind Mobile has no roaming fees on the US plans, they partner with T- Mobile in the U.S. and it is a reciprocal agreement between them. I would switch to Wind if they had better coverage here.

Guess I'll still be waiting for the day there will be no North American roaming :confused3

Rogers has pretty good travel packs.

We pay an extra $10.00 per month/per phone, and all data is pooled together from our monthly cap.

Since we have Blackberries, and the compression rate is good, we are laughing!

Just spent 11 days in Disney plus several days driving there and back - daily Internet, download photos/videos, Disney wait time apps, weather apps and BBM, and I used maybe 70 mb. The other day in the car, I was on the Internet for hours!

Thanks for sharing the article link, but I agree with pp, that it depends upon what kind of user you are, as the fees mentioned are not cheap.

Our plan is great for our usage, as we also visit Michigan and Ohio several times per month, but for a heavy user like in the article, perhaps this new service would be better?

I have an American phone since I used to have US property but for some they may have interest.

yes, it was an interesting article, and may be of benefit to some.
