RnR rocking Providence RI Aug 7th, 2011

I love that they are expanding the RnR series, I think they are run really well. I am going to keep an eye on this one. I might be in Europe at or around that time next near (doing at least 1 and maybe 2 halves while there) so it might not work out for me next year time or money wise but I welcome any RnR that gets added.

The avg high temp for RI that time of year (according to the weather.com), is 82. That would be a cold snap compared to what we're seeing down here in the southern states.

I've never been to that part of the country. I may have to check it out!

Frank, you're going to choose Europe over a RnR race in Providence? ;)

I'm actually eyeing the new RnR race in Savannah. That would be closer to home for me and I would love to get to participate in one of these RnR races!

Meredith, the code EXCLUSIVE will also save $30 off the Savannah race if you register by Aug 15th! There's sure to be a WISH presence in Savannah too.

I got that email too! I was thinking about the RI race for sure maybe Savannah, depending on NY Marathon lottery. My sister lives in Boston, so it would be a good chance to fly out there and see her. Does anyone know how the weather is that time of year, running wise? My sister said it could be fine, could be warm and humid. Not sure about running in humidity, live in CA and we only have a couple of days w/ it and it's nothing compared to back east and down south so any tips would be great!

Susie looked it up - the average high is 82. Not matter what the weather it will be FUN. Hope you can make it.

OK, I looked all over the RnR website. What is the official pace requirement for these races? I'm trying to decide how feasible it is for me (although I've got a year and a half...)

I couldn't really find any 'race rules', etc.

Usually RnR halfs have a 4 hr timelimit, but not all of them do. Chicago for instance has a 3.5 hr timelimit. It sounds like they are still getting this race organized, but hopefully more information will be available soon.

Just talked to my sister about staying at her place on Friday and Sunday. I'm registered! It's gonna be fun!! :goodvibes

Bummer. Missed the early reg. Went to the website and noticed the $30 was for the first 500 registrants. I missed it. Will probably do this race, but will now hold onto my $$ for a little longer ;) Still need to pay for the Goofy!

Terri - use the code EXCLUSIVE to get the discount. There is a place for a code once you start the registration process!

OK, well I gave in and signed up for Savannah. Thank you for the discount code! I figured it was worth the chance if it only cost $55 to sign up. I'll put in on the calendar now! It'll be 2 months after the 2011 DL Half, so I should be ready to go by then!

Thanks for the info!

I just signed up for Providence. :cool1:

Pat, did you sign up for Savannah as well?

GREAT!!!! The more WISHers, the better! :goodvibes

No Savannah for us in 2011, planning on combining WDW marathon weekend 2012 with my first grandbaby's first trip to Disney, and there's just not enough time and $$$ to do it all. But Savannah is definitely on the to-do list.

It's official! Cathy and I will be there in Rhode Island!! I am so excited about this one!!
