Big fan of YC/BC but keep hearing great things about Riviera (studio). Which would you choose and why for an adult trip?

YC/BC. Adult only trip—- you have quick access to many great restaurants/lounges near YC, BC, Boardwalk, swan and Dolphin. Quick and easy walk to Epcot and easy access to HS.

Riviera - very limited for adult dining. Just my opinion.

We were a party of three adults who stayed in a Riviera studio last month, and have a long history of staying at the Epcot resorts. It is easy to take the Skyliner to the Epcot resorts area if you want to dine there. We enjoyed the dining at Riviera though. Riviera feels more adult and less whimsical than the Epcot resorts, which can be a pro or con, depending on how you feel about theming.

To be honest, the biggest differences to me are the kitchenette and split bathroom as compared to a YC/BC room. Having the ability for two people to have separate shower facilities at the same time made it easier to get ready. For us, a microwave never goes amiss either. Granted, you could stay at BCV and have a kitchenette, but you wouldn’t have the split bath.

Budget is usually my first consideration. I would choose whichever one gave me the best price. I have never had a bad stay at any of them.

YC/BC gets my vote - stayed at RIV in Sept - not a fan - the lobby is very small, had weather related Skyliner issues, limited shopping, etc….YC is much more convenient to Epcot and HS and has access to the Boardwalk as well for shopping, eating, snacking, etc and I really enjoy all the places inside and outside where you can just relax.

I absolute adore RIV, especially for an adult trip as it has such a quieter atmosphere (love their HUGE quiet pool) but when are you going? Skyliner goes down in lightning so if it’s during storm season YC. And if it’s first half of 2025 SAB is closed so quiet pools at YC/BC are gonna be a mess. If those overlap flip a coin lol.

I wouldn’t choose it over YC. Love convenience of YC. I’ll ride over to visit the RIV for a meal.

If RIV offers a significant savings over YC (which I'm willing to bet, it doesn't), I would do RIV. It's gorgeous. However, YC offers you a better location and access to many, many more restaurants/lounges, etc. YC just makes a trip easier - less wrangling with transportation IMHO!

Since you already stayed at YC (per your signature) I would suggest RIV, it's always nice to try something different, plus the extra bathroom area for getting ready.

Stayed at the BC/YC and have my first stay at Riviera in November. Looking forward to the comparison. I let my hotel accommodation help shape our itinerary for each stay - in the upcoming stay, looking forward to a more relaxed resort oriented luxuriating experience versus park centric.

Although with that said, for our travel party (which includes locals on a staycation), we are a quick rideshare (or skyliner) away from wherever we need or want to be anyway. Given your choice, I would choose Riviera because it’s something new/different.

Now this was several yrs. ago but we stayed Club Level at the YC and were not impressed by the resort at all. Once and done - it seemed like my grandparents would possibly have enjoyed it.

Riviera would have to be dirt cheap for me to pick it over YC/BC...or ANY of the Epcot area resorts, including Swolphin.

We love BC/YC, but I'd very much like to stay at Riviera. However, for the two most recent trips, there was absolutely no availability; seems quite popular. So your decision might be moot. I'd personally like to try it at least once and then I can make a more informed decision the next time about whether YC/BC or RIV.

What's the plan for 2025 re Stormalong bay?

BC/YC all the way. Not that Riv is a bad resort, it just doesn't have all the options you have at YC/BC
