Trying to decide for January between these two. I've never stayed in either, and both look awesome! YC is $316.64 less than Riv.

Solo adult, and I'm not a huge pool person, so SAB isn't really a factor. I'm not the biggest fan of the Skyliner, but it's not a dealbreaker - I also live in NYC so walking is no big deal either.

Planned parks are
1/7 - AK
1/8 - Epcot
1/9 - MK
1/10 - AK
1/11 - Studios...this is my departure day and in a way walking would be easier for me to stay a bit longer to not worry about getting stuck on the Skyliner...

But I'm torn.

WWYD?

Def YC, based on price and walking to HS on the last day.

The bussing will be the same. YC is close to a lot more options, so depending on what is open dining might be a lot better between YC/BC/BW/Swan/Dolphin

Also, if AK continues to close ridiculously early, and park hoppers come back (big ifs), it would be a really neat option to go to Epcot at the end of the day and walk back to YC.

YC. Good adult vibe. Nice walk around crescent lake. Many and varied food options. Relaxing. Walking to HS is golden.

I'm typically an adults-only traveler, and you're choosing between two of my very favorite resorts, so I don't think you can go wrong either way! I would probably lean slightly toward Yacht if you're a walker. You have access to lots of resorts/restaurants/bars/lounges around you, walking access to two of the parks you're going to, and you can still check out the Skyliner if you choose. Plus, you save $300. Having said that, go give Riviera a peek if you have some extra time. Yacht has historically been our favorite, and may still be our favorite for sentimental reasons, but those Riviera rooms are pretty incredible!

Given that HS is your departure day, I’d go with YC, even though RIV resort is top of my list. I have not stayed, visited and the food and atmosphere was so much better than being at BCV..which isn’t YC.

Cant go wrong either way.

Would you put YC over BCV? A studio there is also a possibility, though slightly more than YC (still less than RIV).

Not directed at me, but YC over BCV and it's not even close. I find BCV rooms very dated and I think you'll also find Yacht to be more adult friendly.

Thanks that was my thought as well - just wanted to check.

Not much to add to any of the above, buy I vote YC as well.

Riv is shiny and new, but honestly I’m not all that into the actual building itself - just doesn’t do it for me for some reason.

Can never go wrong with the walkability options from YC, especially as a solo adult who may want to choose your own adventure at any moment. YC is a better jumping off point for that, IMO.

I really like YC. It's also convenient for your stay, and cheaper.

Another vote for YC, it is my all time favorite resort on WDW property and I've stayed at all except A0A, POFQ, Riv, SS and WL. We have even camped with our RV at the Fort and we used to stay at what is now SOG before it became strictly military. I love the feel of YC, Epcot and HS are our favorite parks and being able to walk to both is great. We visited Riv last year to have dinner and while it was nice and I would like to explore it a little more, I'd still stay at YC and $300 less.

I second what was already said, YC over BCV. I do like BCV more than BWV as a DVC owner, but RIV tops them both. But, I am not a HS fan so even on solo trips, I don’t visit that park.

I have never been to YC, but from what I have heard, it’s nice!

I, personally, would do BCV studio over YC. The YC rooms are gorgeous, but I always feel a little remote at YC. You can't beat the location of BCV - the proximity to EP, the Skyliner and the BC buses can't be beat. Plus I like the fact that BC Marketplace is a short stroll from the BCV building. As a solo traveler, I would prefer the layout of the BCV studio as well plus the bigger coffee maker :)

I would stay at YC even if it were $300 more. Riviera just doesn't appeal to me and YC has the perfect location along with great refurbished rooms and tons to do right outside the door. YC hands down
