Las Vegas Riviera - any reviews?

I am headed to LV in August for a long weekend. My friends are staying at the Riviera but I am not sure i want to I am wondering if the rooms are decent? Has anyone been there recently?

I am looking at maybe doing a hotwire 4/5 star instead which right now may be cheaper than the Riviera rates.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I had some friends stay there about a year ago. I was sceptacle but they had no complaints.

Careful bidding in Vegas. Many of the big casinos get the same ratings as off strip hotels. Check out www.betterbidding.com first.

We stayed there in March of 09 and other than I'd rather have been mid strip, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I stayed at the Riviera October '09 and it wasn't too bad. The casino is small, there isn't much to do right around the resort, but the rooms are nice. If you have the cash I say stay somewhere part of the main strip.
