Riverside or Yacht Club?

Would anybody change from YC to GF? We are staying at GF for one night but if we change we would be able to stay the entire time their but I hate to give up the close proximity to Epcot and HS

It depends on how long your trip is. More than 6 days or so and I'd keep the GF, otherwise I'd be tempted to stay in one place. But then, I am not a fan of changing resorts.

I think it depends on the type of experience you want. Each resort is fabulous in it's own way.

I love the feel of POR - the theme is beautiful and you get the best of the old south. I like that it has a table service location as well as quick service. The rooms can be a bit cramped, especially if you have a room with the 2 queen beds ( vs. the king room ). If you have your own car, I like that the drive to Epcot and Magic Kingdom is so easy.

Yacht Club has that upscale feel and you can't go wrong with a water view. We just stayed there in June and thought the room was awesome! It had a very roomy feel to it even with 2 queen beds in it and we had the newer shower with the rain feel to it that was a little slice of heaven. I also enjoy having the balcony so I can enjoy the sun while it takes my slow-as-molasses husband gets ready in the morning. I love that there are so many dining options within walking distance too. Speaking of walking distance, it's hard to beat walking to Epcot and HS.

I haven't stayed at the Grand Floridian yet, I think I'd like to stay in the Villas some time but as much as I like to visit GF on our trips for dining or sight seeing, for my budget dollars I'd stick with YC.

Huge POR fan here, but it's a mod. YC is deluxe. Unless you're talking about Grand Flo, which from what I have heard is not worth the price tag, I'd definitely stay with the deluxe. Go Yacht Club. :)

YC! I don't think you can overstate the ability to walk to 2 parks. We stayed at the Poly one trip (so similar travel as GF) and while travel to MK is nice, we were happier once we moved over to YC for the rest of the trip just to have the option to go to 2 parks on a whim and not worry about transportation. That doesn't even take into consideration the number of choices for dining, not just at EP but with the close proximity to the other resorts.

I would stay at YC. I have found the boat from POR to DS to take a long time. At dinner time, we've never gotten on the first boat (they are not that large). We have recently opted to take Uber, which is what I would do from YC. So, I don't think the boat is that much of a benefit.

YC. Love POR but the location is too much to pass up.

Would probably take the location over GF too, but could be talked out of that one...

Which park/s do you plan on being in the most? I would make my decision based on which resort provides me the best location for my plans. For what it is worth, you really can't beat the YC for walking into World Showcase in the evening. :)

We will be going to each park once in the morning and once in the evening. Usually do a break in the middle of the day. We are also on the DxDDP.

YC and it's not even close! So nice to be able to wander over to the World Showcase for dinner.....maximizes that afternoon nap time when you don't have to pad in extra time for transportation waits!

I stayed at POFQ for the first time last month after having stayed only in Deluxes, and while I liked it, there were definite drawbacks. Taking buses everywhere got really old really fast, and I found myself taking Lyft and Minnie Vans a lot. I missed the proximity to parks. And while the boat access to DS was awesome...it was August, which meant more often than not there was no boat service due to lightning.

I would stay at YC personally, if it’s in your budget.

I personally would save the $560 and choose POR (I'd probably choose the Pop and save a lot more :)). I can't afford to stay deluxe unless I charge part of the vaca or dip into savings.....neither of which I do for vacations. I can only save up so much to be able to go to Disney three years running. But, if money was not an issue, I'd love to stay at the YC!

This completely depends on how you view MK and the GF honestly. If you want to have a few days dedicated to MK and/or the GF is a bucket list stay for you (like it was for me), then definitely keep that night. Now that I have stayed there, I would not necessarily go out of my way to return since I value the YC's location to be more desirable. The MK resorts are convenient to MK, and that is honestly it. The monorail to Epcot is a bit of a hassle. Personally I'd stay at YC the entire time.

Well OP, that split is Exactly what I’m doing very soon. I LOVE ...POR as it holds Many Amazing memories for me and have stayed on site there from it’s Dixie Landing Days. Let’s just say, many many many times lol.
I could not get the last 3 days there so... YC it is for the later part of my visit.. which are our Epcot and HS days.
I’m honestly Not a Split resort person at all... but YC popped up. Haven’t stayed there in years (as I enjoy AKL as my Deluxe choice most often.. with Poly close behind).

Enjoy ur Visit!!
