Riverside Not included in Possible FD?

Is POR traditionally excluded from FD if and when there is a FD promotion? If it is not does anyone have any historic info about rooms etc that might be excluded? TIA for any repies!

It wasn't available last time I went during a FD promotion (in 2015). Only CBR was available for the moderates.

Wound up just getting 2 rooms as AS Sports and upgrading from QSDP to DDP. Slightly more expensive, but having two rooms (for 2 adults and kids ages 10, 8, 8) made it worth it.

In the past it has been included for some dates every year. Sometimes there are blackout dates for POR.

it was excluded in 2014, I chose september specifically for free dining

We were at PORS last August (2016) on FD bounceback promotion. It was included, but with some blackout dates. We also had to book a preferred room or a garden room in order to qualify for FD. We used to do FD promotion at POFQ, but unfortunately, it's been excluded now for a while. Hope they continue to offer FD at PORS because we love the boat ride / location in relation to Disney Springs.

I wonder if POR will be excluded due to the construction at CSR and CBR. I doubt they'll need to fill rooms at POR or POFQ. Just a guess, I have no inside info

We are shooting for a split stay. AoA then move over to either YC, Poly or POR from Sunday November 26 to December 1. Looks like that Sunday after Thanksgiving may be a winner. We have a POR riverside that I guess could be modified to the dates for check in for free dining. It is a Royal Room River View. We also have a ressie for another one for the whole trip that I am guess could be made into a split stay. That room is River View. Do you think either of those would qualify if and maybe when they annouce?

Having something booked now will have no bearing on whether you get FD or not. Book where you WANT to stay even without FD. Then make a plan for what you are willing to do to get FD. In case you didn't see it, the rumor is even the Mod resorts are only getting the QSDP this year, so you need to decide if that is still worth it to you. There may be a room discount that would cover your entire trip, but until the discounts are released, there's just no way to know for sure.
As to POR being included, the latest is they may be included for Sept, but NOT included for Nov/Dec.

Thanks for the reply. I am overbooked but i truly don't know where I want to land during my stay. I have a considerable amount of money tied up in deposits that I will apply to any new/revised ressies. The Cast Members hate to do it but it works. Just takes a couple of days. If the mods are not in FD we will go with YC or Poly. Just happy to make my kids dreams come true.

Maybe not directly, but it could have an impact. If rooms are already booked, then Disney has no reason to offer free dining.

Don't POR rooms sleep 5? It seems like there are always fewer options for 5. I don't think Disneyland wants to give away that many dining credits.
