It's really unlikely it will be open the week of Easter, correct? I am finalizing plans this week so I can make FP in a few days, and am not planning on leaving an evening open for this....
There have been rumors that it will open on Earth Day, which is April 22nd. It is doubtful they will make Easter which is almost a whole month prior to that this year.

Ugh...how far in advance do you think they will announce it? Our plan is to be in AK on May 12....would rather not turn all of our plans upside down at the last minute.

I'm in the same boat. This and/or Frozen Ever After could totally up end our plans during our first week of May trip. As much as I would love for them to be open, I also don't want the last minute shuffling of everything.

I am also watching for news. We are there from April 30th to May 8th. I'm not missing it if I can avoid it, but like the rest of you, I don't want to have to change everything at the last minute. Admittedly I know NOTHING about the show, but will it only run after dark? If so, it would seem unlikely that it would run every night doesn't it? I would love some details.

It would run after dark. It's uncertain at this point but some rumors have it running two shows per night. Why would it be unlikely for it to run every night?
It's not going to be a high capacity show in terms of how many people can view it. The show is focused around animals using water, lights, fire and projections. No fireworks which means they can run it nightly. Think of it being similar to world of color in DCA.

Thanks for the info. My assumption was just based on the increase that would cause to operating hours. To stay open until dark in the summer months for example would mean AK staying open later than it traditionally has. Not a bad thing, I just didn't think they would increase hours that much. I would love later hours at AK

Don't forget that they will also be starting the evening safaris as well. So almost everything would remain open except the trails. And then next year Avatarland will open. I don't think anyone will be calling AK a half day park once all of this starts happening.
