River Belle Terrace Lunch/Dinner Menu Question

I have been reluctant to pay $12.99 for a sandwich so have avoided River Belle Terrace and gone for other dining options around the park. Lately I have read some enthusiastic comments about the sandwiches, and I'm starting to reconsider. So what makes the sandwiches good? Are the ingredients fresh? We would be interested in the turkey or beef. How is the meat? Are the sandwiches made to order or sitting out already prepared? I see that they come with a side of beans and a choice of cold side. What are the cold side choices? DH won't eat potato salad or macaroni salad. Is there a fruit or vegetable option or ?? Are the kid versions decently sized because I'm also wondering if DSs will need adult or kid portions. Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes, I can understand your reluctance to spend that much on a sandwich. I have a hard time with the price myself but I really like the sandwiches there. I've only had the turkey sandwich (DH had the one with BBQ sauce one time and liked it though). But to help with the cost, DH and I split the sandwich and sides and then if we're hungry later we'll each get a snack which is cheaper than both of us getting a sandwich. The turkey (and I think the beef) is carved right there when you order the sandwich and they make it there for you while you watch. I wish I could remember the choices of sides. The only one I can remember is the pasta salad because that's the one I've gotten. I've also ordered the kids turkey sandwich before and it was plenty for me but I wasn't stuffed. You could ask to see the size when you're standing at the counter so you could decide which size you want for your DS.

Oh and they also have a big condiments bar with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, BBQ sauce, etc.

we had dinner here one night last year... like you I didnt want to spend that much on a sandwhich but they really were quite good we split the carved turkey and the BBQ pork the beans were very good and we got cole slaw with ours I cant comment on that as I loathe coleslaw :) but the others in my group said it was very tasty..... the turkey was juicy not dry and the bbq pork tasted so good.. when you split a meal which is very doable it makes the cost much more agreeable!!!

mmmm they are very much worth the $12.99 price tag. :) DBF and I usually split one and it's plenty for us. I can't remember what the sides are either tho...sorry about that. You could go in during the lunch service and see what the menu says regarding sides and then chose. The sandwiches are freshly made and the condiments are fresh as well. They are very good.

The salads there are also amazingly good and I would highly recommend them as well!

For our cold side, we each got fruit salad. I also thought the baked beans very tasty and was impressed with the quality of the sandwiches. We would eat there again.

I was in McDonalds here about a week ago and it was $7.00 for a sandwich and a fry side. I do not care for McD(had no choice) and it was not located in Disneyland. We love RBT's food and often split.

Thanks for all the helpful responses. We have been to Disneyland a bunch of times now but realized that we tend to eat a lot of the same meals there that we already know we like. Our quest during our next few trips is to try some of the stuff we haven't eaten at DLR before. We're glad to hear that fruit salad might be an option, and the condiment bar sounds great. So I think I'm going to add RBT for lunch or dinner to our list of DLR summer food goals.

I had the kid's turkey carver for about $7.00 and it was well worth it and enough food for me. You might try that route. Real meat is the thing, carved right there. One of the freshest and best deals at Disney imo.

Well keep in mind that RBT is counter service, so like I said before it's not a big deal to walk thru and check it out before you decide. They also have a menu board outside the doors on both sides. :)

I tried the BBQ pork sandwich a couple weeks ago. I'd never gone before because the price is so high for a sandwich. It was okay but I didn't think it was worth the price. If I go back (read: if my veto gets overruled), maybe I'll get a kid's sandwich but I won't pay $13 again.
