A DD's just open up near my about 2 weeks ago. It looks more glam on the outside than regular Dd's. The staff is dressed in cool apricot color thermal tops, there are cooks that are dressed like chefs/bakers. There is a LOT more to choose from on the menu. Gourmet pasteries are encased in glass cases. We went this morning to try about their breakfast menu. We had breakfast bites, which were a little bigger than a munchkin. There was eggs benedict, egg, sausage and cheese and southwest. We had the egg sausage and cheese but I sampled the eggs benedict. They had breakfast pizza, you could get eggs/cheese or eggs/cheese/sausage. We also go breakfast dawgs which was sausage wrapped in biscuit. Reg. or maple flavored. The girls loved it. There was fruit cups, expressos and some other stuff not on a reg. menu. At night you could get the bites in BBQ pulled pork, Taco and one other kind. Does anyone else have a DD's like this?

no - but that makes me think of the "gourmet McD's" in Orlando! hehehe

Ooh, where is this? DH and I go to DD quite often. I'd like to see more things on the menu.

It's in RI......too far for you to travel for a cup o' Joe! Maybe if this one does well, others will open. :)

That IS what it's like!!!!! But in itty bitty RI!! The owner has BIG dreams, I guess. It was pretty crowded and there is another reg. DD's nearby.

No, I've never been to one that fancy, but I've been to one that was the complete opposite. Once on a road trip we stopped at a drive thru DD and placed our order for some donuts. The employee said, "We don't have any donuts." Well, okay, then we figured we'd order a few bagels. The employee again, "Don't have any of them either." :confused3 :confused3 Well, we wondered, what DO you have? Employee, "Coffee."

That was the first time we've ever been to a DD that didn't have donuts! We laughed about that for quite awhile. :)

I won't even go in a DD or Krispie Kreme now a days. Can't have eggs or diary due to my baby's food allergies and I have yet to find any donuts or the like that are egg and dairy free! It is just to painful. Those places just smell so great. I don't it much if I don't have to smell it or see anyone else eating it! My niece wanted to stop in for coffe the other day and I kept driving until I found a Starbucks!

I went to college in RI...it was a joke that you couldn't drive more then 2 miles without passing a DD! hhehe

Yep I go to one all of the time. It's an experimental trend DD is working on. Rhode Island often is used for a testing point of new products because of a large cross section of people in a small area.
Local bars even have Heineken Lite :teeth:
