The RC is sold out on one of the nights we are planning to be there. I know the JW shares amenites with the Ritz. Has anyone stayed at the JW? How were the rooms?

We stayed at the R-C shortly after it opened and spent a bit of time over at the JW Marriott (ncluding a meal at Primo). We asked to see a room and it was beautiful - as was the entire resort (albeit that it was brand new, so that's always going to help). There really isn't that much to choose between the R-C and the JWM and I'd be happy to stay there. Of course, there's nothing to stop you using the restaurants at the R-C. We loved Norman's, but were also pleasantly surprised by the regular restaurant - The Vineyard Grill. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Fairways Bar which is a lovely spot for lunch, even if you don't want to play golf. The lazy river at the JWM is beatifully landscaped - more aesthetically pleasing than the pool at the R-C.

I stayed at the JW about 1 year ago for a meeting -- however, most of the meeting was held at the Ritz. The hotels connect via a "hallway" -- for lack of a better term. We floated back and forth to the restaurants, but had to need for the pool, so can not comment on that. The JW service was at par to service I have received in the past at a Ritz. You can not go wrong with the JW.
