Risk Adverse - but should we try a new resort?!

Our Disney 'saga' started last March. It was mine and the kids' first trip, and wife hadn't been since she was a young child. Fast forward to today and we're dis junkies. We live in Ohio, so it's not as easy as hopping in a car and making a quick trip, yet we've managed four trips totalling nearly two months in 'heaven' over the course of the last year and a half.

Anyway - we started in Nick Hotel because, quite frankly, we didn't know where else to go. We knew we wanted a separate sleeping quarter from our kids, so it seemed like a good deal. Then I did more and more research on the DisBoards and saw everyone said we should try WH. We did that for our 2nd trip and LOVED it. The third trip was back to Nick Hotel (had lots of rewards points - so got 4 or 5 free nights). Then 4th trip back to WH.

We love WH, and love the condo we've rented the last couple of times, but I was just wondering if there's something else we should try??? I would love to stay at one of the DVC resorts - but can not justify the extra money. We can get three bedrooms at WH for less than $100 per night - and we'll need all three rooms 'cause my mom's going with us (yeah - free babysitting for a night out for wife and I). Any ideas?!?!

Bumpin' ........if's there's a nicer and as well priced venue as WH, I'd like to know.

After trying several venues, Wh is the hands down favorite for price, location and amenities.:santa:

WH = Windsor Hills. This is a resort with 2 and 3 bedroom condos, 3 bedroom townhouses with private splash pools and 4 - 6 bedroom pool homes. There's a clubhouse with huge zero entry pool and hot tub, games and fitness rooms etc. It's within 5 min of Disney AK. You can find out more here: www.windsorhillsrent.com
We've stayed there 3 times and really like it.
There's a sub forum for reviews at the top of this disboards page. You can find some reviews for WH. Or put in a search for it. It has come up many times.

Cruz: there's also the (Ginn) Reunion Resort which is further down from WH on Old Lake Wilson Rd. It has a waterpark area with lazy river and of course lots of golf. The rates are higher than WH but maybe not as high as DVC. I've heard good reports from those that stayed. If you can't find any reviews here maybe on Trip Advisor. You can find rentals among the listings for Kissimmee on VRBO.

If you've got something you like, at a good price, why mess with success?

Have you checked out Bonnet Creek? While it's not technically on the Disney property, you have to drive onto Disney property to get to it. It's new (but NOT a Disney propery), and has gotten excellent reviews on this board. I think they have a lazy river, but I'm not sure. You can google it. I've seen it on ebay for some good prices (make sure the seller is established, has good feedback, and takes a credit card to protect yourself). Somebody else might good direct you to a more direct method of renting one at a good price.

Have you looked on the DVC points rental board? You probably won't be able to get them as cheaply as what you're paying now, but they have a points calculator that will let you figure out how many points you'll need. I think they usually go for about $10 a point.

Good luck!
