Rise Non-Riders - Where to wait?

Hi All

We are going in August (so super hot) and given we're not staying on site it's unlikely my DH and DD will snag an ILL for Rise. Myself and my youngest DD (4) will not be riding.

Where would you recommend we hang out while waiting? Ideally somewhere with AC and nearish Rise.

We may try to do the Jr Dance Party but there may be additional waiting time given the queue and ride time of rise. Out of interest, roughly how long a walk would you say it is from Animation Courtyard to SW?

Thanks in advance

They are on the other side of the park from each other. You can go to the MDE app and put in 2 locations and it will tell you how long it takes to walk there. But the good thing is that the park is not that big and nothing is more than 10 minutes away. Other than the rides and shows, the only other places with air conditioning are the restaurants. Depending on what time of day, you might be able to find a seat inside one, but I wouldn't do that if the restaurant is busy and take up a table for someone that needs to sit and eat.

Frozen Singalong isn’t too far from Rise. Backlot Express and ABC Comissary aren’t far. Toy Story Mania would be close too.

Galaxy’s Edge has a few shops that are air conditioned.

The Star Tours shop is air conditioned.

If you can brave the sun and heat, there is a bounty Hunter game to play. Be forewarned, it drains battery quickly.

My go-to while waiting for family to ride Rise is directly outside the Rise area exit of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: First, see Muppet Vision 3D, a cute kid-friendly show, and then go directly across the street to Baseline Tap House Lounge (kids allowed) for a cool drink and a yummy snack of the big shareable Bavarian pretzel w/cheese and mustard dipping sauce $9.50.

Mickey’s Vacation Fun is a short cartoon in the A/C that is in the same basic area as Baseline, Muppets, and Frozen Sing-a-Long. Olaf has a meet and greet near the entrance that you can sometimes catch with a shorter wait time, as well. Mickey and Minnie (Meet Disney Stars) meet on the other side, across from ABC Commissary, but you may want to try to snag an LL for them.
