RIP Thread

Well, I admit..it's probably not the best place to be if you're grieving for him. Not gonna find too much in the way of comfort here. I'm quite sure there are threads on the community board that are more "forgiving" of his sins.
Personally as the mother of two boys, I find it difficult to forgive his sins..nor is that up to me. Despite his talent, his fame, or his difficult childhood....it's still no excuse.

I like Mikey's music,,I have NEVER liked Mikey,,,bout the same for Georgie M., I like SOME of his music,,NEVER liked Georgie.

Michael's last words were, "please take me to the children's hospital"

"From a disney board, I would expect a little more respect for his children and family."

Sounds like chastising to me.:scratchin But hey..what do I know. :confused3If you've been researching this board for a couple of years, then you'd know that "tacky"...well, that about sums us up! :rotfl:

Who said anything about his children or his family. He's a bum, and I'm glad he's not molesting kids anymore.

No one is denying his talent, only his character.
To say he wasnt convicted is true but neither was OJ and I dont think the juice ever made any mutli million dollars payoffs either.
The whole thing is tragic, as so much of Hollywierd has become lately.
The pictures on TV of the sobbing fans, come on people, dont you have jobs to go to, get a grip, he was a singer, its not like he solved the secret to cold fusion or cured a disease.

Jobs??? what jobs? we're all owned by Obama now didn't you hear. No need to work, you're house and car payment will be made for you lol.

There's no doubt this guy was a whack job. I mean where did the real Michael exist? Was there anything left of his original body? It's sad someone with all that talent was such a waste.

I've heard rumors that when the paramedics were doing CPR, his nose fell off....... well it was from one of the shock jocks, but you never know......

Well, there ya go....That would certainly explain why he wasn't breathing. ::yes::

On the same show I heard that the medics drew straws to see who would give CPR - the loser had to perform the procedure. :lmao:

people please, an icon has passed..... can't we stop from making jokes????? he was a pop star.

maybe brit brit is next?

Because of all the plastic in his body, Michael Jackson will be melted down and turned into Lego, so the kids can play with HIM for a change

Honestly, none of us know the truth about what really happened with the accusations but he was found not guilty on all charges. I am not saying he wasn't strange he was indeed. But he also didn't have a normal childhood like most of us were blessed to have had.
Mr. Jackson was acquitted by the same set of fruits, flakes and nuts that found Mr. Simson not guilty. If you are going to be famous and commit a crime, by all means, please commit it in CA, so you can get away with it. If you actually read the transcripts of either trial, you would agree with me. The man was eccentric, but making excuses for his behavior because of his childhood is ridiculous. People every day make good of lives that were brought up in horrible conditions. Excuses breed excuses. Normal people turn out bad too. Geez.

Who's judging certainly not me. I was referring to the tacky comments about 5 year old boys that were in the previous posts not the posts that did express sympathy for his family. I just find it a little disturbing to make those kind of jokes this soon after his death. But yes it is my opinion and I have never been hesitant to express it. FYI, I have been reading/researching these boards for a couple of years now....

And yet you are here, making comments with 62 posts, claiming you have been on for years and not hesitant to make your opinion known..

things that make you go hmmmmmmm....

I wasn't trying to chastize. I was trying to express my opinion no matter how unpopular it may be. I guess I am the only one to speak up about how offensive some of the posts were. I know that they were just trying to be funny but some of us do not find it funny. Not at this hour or time when so many are grieving.

Hmmmm, if you were patrolling these boards for as long as you claim, you would know that this particular board is mainly composed of people who have families and take quite a large offense to people who are a threat to children. Mr. Jackson had a history of that, whether proven or not. It is only natural for people to strike out in anger now that he is in the limelight again. You may not agree with this, but if you have patrolled this board like you claim, you should have known this would happen.

I have to admit, when I found out about MJ's death yesterday the first thing I did was come here hoping to commiserate with other children of the late '70s/early '80s who might have been shocked by the suddenness of his death and to share some fond recollections of those times and that music. I was taken-aback by the rot-in-hell type messages and left more sad than when I came in. For me the music is about my memories and about where I was in life then, and has nothing to do with the artist. Ok, it has little to do with the artist... I still don't know if I'm supposed to like George Michael's I Want Your Sex 'cause I don't know if he's talking to me or my date! LOL I will continue to enjoy 2-1/2 of MJ's records (Bad being the 1/2) and several songs from the Five, and will continue to try to divorce the music from the weirdness of the 'man'. As for his state now, I can not bring myself to wish hell on anybody and pray that he found what he did not deserve(Rom 3:10ff), the grace of God sufficient to cover a life filled with sin (Rom 14:23, everything done apart from faith is sin).

:santa:

Shan, this goes for you too. You know, more than anyone, that most people on this board are extremely family oriented and that the backlash of anger against this man would happen. This is human nature and bickering with people because their opinion differs won't solve the anger they have because of the protection they have of their children. No one can prove that OJ did what he did or the MJ did what he did, but it is out there, and if you read the transcripts of the trial, it is telling and chilling. I just ask that you both put yourselves in a parent's shoe and ask yourself what you would act like if you had a sexual predator that lived 2 streets down from your house that had just been released from jail for fondling little boys and you had a little boy in the house....the anger would be there....

I just found one 0.26 miles from my house.

Forgiving is one thing, forgetting is another.

No one is denying his talent, only his character.

You know, they probably took off work to go out there. That stings.

Jen, very eloquent! I agree 100%, thank you for being "the goofballs" voice of reason. LOL

Pete, you are just sick and wrong, but dang I love ya for it!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: I really want to meet you and share a case of cold ones, or two.

drinking is evil. and as someone who is on a family disney oriented board, I do not condone drinking of alcohol. I am better than you all, and say, for shame.:hippie:

For those that are defending him, and condemn us for bashing him, I need nothing more than this picture to make my judgment about him and his character!

But if you want to get in depth about him and kids, find the quote from one of his interviews where he says he loves to be in bed with children, that he saw nothing wrong with it. He denied that sex was involved but freely admitted to sleeping with little children, that in and of itself is too much for me to stomach.

I found this quote really quick,

Pop superstar Michael Jackson admitted last night in a television documentary that he loves to have young boys sleep in his bed.

Michael Jackson: "It's what the whole world should do." (file photo)

What's more, everyone should do it, says the 44-year-old Jackson, who was accused of sexually molesting a 13-year-old boy a decade ago, and who admits recently encouraging a 12-year-old cancer sufferer to sleep in his bedroom.

“It's what the whole world should do,” Jackson told interviewer Martin Bashir on the Granada television program, "Living With Michael Jackson
