RIP Steve Jobs

From Bob Iger....

October 05, 2011
ROBERT A. IGER, PRESIDENT AND CEO, THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY ON STEVE JOBS' PASSING

Steve Jobs was a great friend as well as a trusted advisor. His legacy will extend far beyond the products he created or the businesses he built. It will be the millions of people he inspired, the lives he changed, and the culture he defined. Steve was such an "original," with a thoroughly creative, imaginative mind that defined an era. Despite all he accomplished, it feels like he was just getting started. With his passing the world has lost a rare original, Disney has lost a member of our family, and I have lost a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Laurene and his children during this difficult time.

I had already left the building when I heard tonight. I am so grateful to have had the experience to work at Apple during Steve's second tenure. He was a visionary and motivated us to deliver incredible things. He was much too young to leave this world, and I for one consider it a better place for him having been in it. Rest in peace, Steve.

I had the fortune of being on the west coast this week for work... this evening I took a drive to Cupertino. Hundreds were gathered; a memorial of pictures, candles, flowers, news vans from every station... a scene unlike anything else I have ever seen.

Though I am not particularly a fan of Apple, there's no doubt of Jobs' legendary abilities as a visionary, and I have a ton of respect for that. He will certainly be missed.

*sigh*

Some people shine so brightly on this Earth that they are only here for a little while before they flame out.

A life cut tragically short.

An impact that will live on forever - at least in our lifetimes.

Rest in Peace, Steve. Your footprint of genius changed an entire culture, your contribution to our lifestyles and our society is immeasurable.

The words, "Thank You" seem barely adequate.

May you and and your family find peace during this difficult time.

I was so sad to hear the news this morning....prayers go out to his family....RIP Steve Jobs

Wow. Just wow. A true visionary, and a man that will be sorely missed by so many. :sad1: Rest in Peace Steve Jobs....... My prayers go out to you and your family.

I was in such shock last night when I heard this news. It really is the end of an era and I think he was the driving force behind a time in our history where technology has never advanced so quickly.

How many of you here realize that without Steve Jobs and Apple there would be no iPods....no iTunes.....no podcasts......and no Dis Unplugged. Food for thought.

R.I.P Steve Jobs :littleangel:

I grew up on an Apple II, then a Mac, now a MacBook Pro & iPhone. Steve Jobs made an impact in the lives of millions of people he never met and will continue to do so for many years to come.

RIP Mr. Jobs.
