The long-time executive and board member at the company founded by his father and uncle passed away Wednesday, sources confirm to Zap2it.

I remember meeting him on the 2006 DVC member cruise. He had some great stories to tell. It's a sad day for the DIS.

A good man, who did good things... his good works remain alive, in our hearts, because we remember.

I just saw it on CNN.....:(

What an awful time of year to lose someone.

I'm sorry to hear this. Roy kept some authentic "Disney" spirit going in the company. :sad1:

Hmmm...Roy and Oral Roberts at the same time...both in the entertainment business if you ask me. Wonder who #3 will be.

I loved coming to the DIS and finding threads where people
met Roy Disney at the parks or at a resort.
I think they were the best threads!

A very sad loss.

I remember the public disagreements he had Michael Eisner about their vision for the Disney Company. Roy was concerned that Eisner was more interested in the revenue side, and neglecting the imagination and creativity side of things.

I don't know about you, but I sided with Roy. :thumbsup2
