Rip, Ride, Rockit!

We are planning on visiting Universal on Saturday, September 5th, but only if HR3 is running. For two people I have $250 budgeted for that day (tickets, lunch, snacks, and omiyage).

I can't imagine how many Disney visitors have skipped their side trip to Universal since HR3 is not yet open. Ouch!

The banner on the lift is now up. Maybe we are moving in the right direction.

I know they have bigger concerns right now like getting the ride to work safely, but that banner is just not very impressive looking, the original artwork showing what appears as a huge video on the side of the coaster is what this supposedly technologically advanced coaster would need to make it cool. But first things first, fix all the problems and every potential problem before opening it.

I was at Universal yesterday and during the day they had workers all over the ride and at night they were doing test runs. It must be getting close though

I was there yesterday too & watched the test runs.. I wonder why they really didn't open when they were suppose to, what was the real safety issue. My sister & I were talking about that while we were watching it. She is afraid to ride it, but said had she not been, she would be due to the delay in opening  I tried telling her that the delay only shows that it will be safe when it does finally open.. and when it does, once I get clearence from my doc on my arm.. on it I will go. I have decided I am going to try it for the first time in the dark.. I don't really want to look at the sky going straight up for my first time...:lmao:

Tomorrow is our first day at Universal Studios. I believe we are planning to do IOA tomorrow. Wishing for miracles.

I hope it is positioned in the park that on that incline you don't have the sun in your face.

I am hoping it is open for June 2010 :)

We were there yesterday, the tm there said it wouldnt be open for another month :O this may be just another "random tm info" thing though.

That is the biggest delay... They are building a sunless dome over the ride. :)

I stopped following the progress. I am hoping its open in October but I will not be shocked if it is not.

DH is going to head over there tonight if the rain holds off, so I'll report on whether or not it's testing when he gets back (I have to stay home for a meeting). I can't believe it's August already and no R3 yet! But it hasn't beat Test Track's delay (yet) so I'm still hoping.

The delays are giving Universal plenty of time to get it right the first time. Hopefully we will see very little downtime once it opens. Besides, having it open during the slower season means it will be easier for anyone going to get on it without a 1-2 hour wait.

The queue itself seems pretty short. It there more queue not easily seen? Would it spill out onto the grass in front of the new music stage? That would seem pretty uncomfortable since it is not shaded there.

:sad2: I don`t think I`m going to get to ride this now!!

I did keep hoping, but even if it did open in the next 10 days or so, the queues would be MAD :eek:

It was running tests in the morning, but by the evening we didn't see it running.
