Rip Ride Rockit track going up

I doubt that I'll get to ride it for a while after it opens. I'm guessing they won't open the Express line right away (like what they did with the Simpsons)

While I hope this isn't the case, I'm just hoping the ride is ready for our trip in mid-June.

Does Universal always wait to implement the Express or was this the case with the Simpsons because they hadn't finished one of the theaters and didn't have enough capacity?

Hey Melissa...I'm not sure how or when they to the EP line but I would imagine they wait to give as many people as possible a chance to ride it w/o the onsite guests or EP buyers holding the lines back. That's what I would think.

There is no Express during Technical Rehearsal. Only on the day of the Grand Opening (not necessarily the media day) does Express begin.

Does anyone hate the fact that it juts out into the NY street backdrop...I dont like it. It takes away from the scenery JMHO...The ride does look cool and I cant wait to ride it but I just wish they would have moved it or hidden it better

Right now maybe but it's cool watching it go up and when it's all finished, I think it'll be really cool!

I am sadden everytime I look down NY because I miss the old Ghostbusters show alot... Now I look forward to looking down the street and seeing a coaster whizz by.

I haven't really thought about the change. I miss the old Ghostbusters show too but I am VERY excited about the new coaster. Hopefully it will be kinda cool to see it zooming by over there. It's going to change the character of the area, but I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing...not good, not bad, just exciting.

You mean this view?

This makes me feel all tingley inside :goodvibes
I cannot wait for this coaster!!

Does anyone one know when it might open? I hope some time in march. My son is a real roller coaster fan and i know he would like to ride it.:woohoo:

No date has been announced yet but I highly doubt it will be open in March. I'm thinking more like May or June.

I agree its exciting the new coaster at US and the Harry Potter area at IOA. I love coasters and Rip Rockit looks very fun but I hate that they have almost made that area useless and have even taken away the great view as you enter the park...I may like it even more once I see it zip by but to me it made it more six flagish and not more Universal...maybe its just me....:confused3

To me, that coaster is beautiful and makes for a great view. It reminds me of walking toward Islands of Adventure and seeing the Hulk coaster. It makes me excited just seeing it and then hearing the roar the Hulk coaster makes just heightens my excitement. This new coaster, with it's vibrant red, is so pretty.

I think it'll be awesome once completed.

"Hi welcome to Twist.." ZOOM! (screams fill the air) "er."

:rolleyes1

i have only seen the pictures for the new coaster ride.
i think that bright red color is impressive.

it really catches your eye.

i loved the ghostbusters meet beetlejuice review that was in front of the new york building.

i think by having this new ride zip by NY, it will give me something to look forward to in that area.

i'm excited to do that ride on my next trip.

I'm thinking that we'll need to include this rollercoaster on the HHN RIP tour next year for a nightime ride!

I meant to post this picture when I posted the others but forgot. I'm assuming this will be the loading station...or part of it:
