Rip Ride Rockit NOW OPEN - NO JOKE

Thanks for posting this. I expected you to get more of a response by now, but nothing. Even on Twitter, no one is posting about it. Where is everyone?

I hope that means the FOTL lines are open. We'll be there next week!:thumbsup2

I'm hearing that the "Now Open" is being put everywhere, but the ride is still in tech rehearsal and there is still No Express. :confused3

So glad to hear that it's open and that we'll get to try it out next week! WOO HOO! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Bummer they did not have AP preview but its nice its open and the kinks should be worked out in a month and half when I go.

Hopefully they will keep it open during HHN so I can ride at night.

i'm so excited we only have 12 days until our trip and we have been looking forward to riding Rip Ride Rocket. :cheer2:

I don't think it's generating much excitement because there really is no difference between this and the technical rehersals that have been going on for days. It's not really "open" if there is no Express, and I'm sure it will be up and down sporadically with technical issues for a while and also not at full capacity for a while. It just makes better press to say that it's open so people know they have half a chance of riding it when they come to the park (if they're willing to wait a couple of hours, that is).

I think Universal is jumping the gun here...I mean...they've gone from testing to technical rehearsals to officially open in a matter of what...10 days? And they aren't even having an AP preview? I think it's utterly ridiculous of them to do this. I guess they want to salvage something before the end of summer. I don't think the HR3 is quite ready for the "officially open" story and I think more test runs are needed...but what do I know? :rolleyes1

My personal suspicion is that Universal is trying to steal the "Biggest New Ride Opening Balls-Up Award" from Disney, who originally won it with Test Track.

Question!

I'm sure my boyfriend will be dying to try this ride when we're there next week but theres no way in heck I will be riding!

1st - Can I wait in line with him and then exit when he goes on?

2nd - How long do you think the line will be for this thing?!

You know they will. A new coaster that looks awesome at night and will help draw crowds away from the haunted houses = open for HHN!

1-You have to ride it, otherwise Imhotep will steal your soul! :darth:

Wait, wrong ride...

It's a lot of fun, but if you want to bail out, just tell the TM at the loading area that you want to exit.
2-Two hours.

Does anyone know what the cost is to purchase the video taken while on it if you choose the email option?

Went on this ride on Sunday--may be the best roller coaster I've ever been on (including the rides at Cedar Point and Six Flags, etc.)

We went on twice, and waited about 1 1/2-2 hrs both times but MAN was it worth it! (No express, but single riders open). Not only is the layout awesome and thrilling, but the music selection (getting to pick your own song, listening to it in synch with the ride, etc.) gives this ride a special thrill. It's the best ride at Universal resort, I'll tell you that much-it has airtime, G forces, all that good stuff.

But technical rehearsal means that the line is long, and some stuff may not work on the ride. ON both rides the strobe lights on the car werent working and on the second ride, the music wasnt working. Oh well, I got to hear Sabotage by the Beastie Boys the first time, how awesome is that?? And 2 of us got to ride in the front row both times which was awesome.

the only bad thing about the ride is that if you dont pull your bar down enought the ride kind of hurts. I didnt hold on to anything but my pockets because I didnt want to lose anything but boy did i get thrown around!

Anyway, GO RIGHT NOW AND WAIT IN LINE AND RIDE THIS THING!!!

According to the site up above the video sells for 29.95. Not sure if there are cheaper options or not.

Sorta offtopic but does anyone know if during hhn you can use onsite key for rides?

We rode it again tonight and bought the video with the email option, but I'm not sure of the cost because we got the AP discount. Problem is, when I got home nothing was in my email. Ugh! It costs more for that option, and I was looking forward to it. The DVD is cool, although I think there were only three parts of footage of us, spliced in with other footage. There is also a great POV on the DVD. My favorite song so far is Pump It by the Black-Eyed Peas. That song sort of reminds me of the Pulp Fiction music, which would also be an awesome choice...I wish it were among the Easter Eggs.

We checked out of RPR on Sat. I am so sorry we missed it! I hope everyone has a wonderful time riding!
