Rip Ride Rocket

OHHH SO SAD! I feel like we were the last two people to ride it. Any idea whats going on?
I went to HHN again last night...for the 4th time ;)...and everything was silent on the HR3 front. They had the spotlights on so you could see the track but that's it.

cast member told us today that it had been down for a few weeks, and they are told every week to tell people that "maybe next week", so it doesn't sound like it will be anytime soon.

when are they going to learn that this BS about Next week, Next week is so transparent. I think they would get more credit if they just came out and said, "RRRC is closed to repair the (fill in broken parts) and will be closed indefinably until the Park Engineers feel it is safe to operate. As soon as a Reasonable date for reopening is clear, it will be made available." That way they are not our right lying to their guests on a weekly basis.

they're redesigning the coupling bars on the train and god knows what else, this isn't a quick fix,I don't expect it open until December or later.

Im really worried about this.

I travel in about 5 weeks to Orlando for the first time in about 4 years and this was probably the attraction that I was most excited about.

According to an article in the Orlando Sentinel I found online, the manufacterers said it would take about 3 months to fix thefault which would put the reopening date at late December!!!

Hoping it can be done in time for early December but not holding out much hope for it!

They said it was due to "annual maintenance" but it has been a few weeks...
Renovations don't make sense since the ride has been open a little over a year.

So is this the worst coaster (as far as broken) ever???

That's a good question...I'm sure there have been others worse...actually Universal Singapore's Battlestar Galactica coaster has been practically closed for a year, never really got open.

You just have to look at the list of coaster accidents to see that there have been worse broken coasters. This one, thankfully, didn't result in any accidents.

I just left IOA, and we could see rip-rocket running, several cars with lights on. We'd thought that perhaps it was for HHN, but that's not going on tonight. Perhaps...just maybe it will be open later this week...my son is very very excited about this one.

They were testing it a bit on the 20th as well.

I just meant broken for long periods of time, not accidents per se

I wonder if these tests people have seen are more to do with ensuring everything else is still working with the ride - kinda like making sure bits of it dont cease up etc, rather than testing the actual problem?

They dont sound like they're doing that much testing, maybe an hour or so every few days - does kinda sound like they're just checking things rather than doing intense testing to see if the main issue (whatever it is) is solved.

:confused3
