Richard Lewis, the stand-up comedian who also starred alongside Larry David in “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” died Tuesday night at his Los Angeles home due to a heart attack, Variety has confirmed. He was 76.​

Lewis announced last April he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and was retiring from stand-up comedy. He most recently appeared in Season 12 of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” currently airing on HBO.​

I really enjoyed his comedy over the years. I was just watching the most recent Curb episode on Tuesday so I was so saddened when this news hit. The fact that episode had Richard telling Larry he revised his will to include him, ugh just so shocking to see that news the next day.

Larry David had a very Larry David remark about his passing yesterday.

i immediatly thought of that show when i heard of his passing-he and jamie lee curtis had great chemistry in it. so sorry to hear of this loss.

I just watched Robin Hood Men in Tights with my son. It was perfect for my son's sense of humor. He thought moving the mole around his face was great. RIP

I was a little sad watching that episode about the will, and then having him pass away a a week later….
