RIP-Anne Burrell

When I heard this yesterday I was so sad. It is still leaving a pit in my stomach. She was my favorite chef on FN. DH and I had noticed her absence the last few years and wondered what was going on with her.

I started watching her way back on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. I watched her on Worst Cooks, BBQ Brawl, House of Knives, Chef Wanted, etc. She had such an ease to teach cooking skills and her recipes rock.

I will hear her in my brain forever....."BTB RTS" "Brown food tastes GOOOOD"

Rest in Peace Chef Anne.

I do too!!!! Sometimes I will look at DD15 and just shake my head and say "Anne would not approve of my knife cuts! I Thelma and Louised it!"

RIght!! She is part of my inner voice in the kitchen. I can hear her say "slices, sticks and dices" or "bring to boil, reduce to simmer" "every layer needs seasoning" or how she would say to a raw chicken she was about to start cooking "hello gorgeous!" Even my DH and DDs repeat her phrases especially "Brown food tastes gooood!" Often at the table my DH will say "Anne Burrell would say this needs more salt."

RIP, Anne. She came across really down to earth and funny. She was so young, too young to die.

I just heard her husband started a Go Fund Me which I think it very strange indeed, considering she has been on television for so long. His goal is to raise $100,000. Anyone else find this suspicious?

But she would say that about salt! She did love her salt, didn’t she?

I figure anyone who decides it's improper or suspicious won't donate. Those choose to donate will do it for their own reasons.
Donations are optional, not required.

It can still be suspicious even if you don't donate.

I have to read the GoFundMe, but why would he need $100k? I doubt it was him that set it up. Could be a scam. Very suspicious, in my opinion.

I too wondered if it could have been accidental. But I am guessing the levels of the medications found in her system lead to to the suicide ruling.

According to People, she was surrounded by 100s of spilled pills in the shower...not accidental, not that way...

One report i read said the drugs in her system were alcohol, antihistamines, and ADHD meds. Who intentionally OD's on those then gets in the shower?

I wonder if it wasn't a situation where she was drunk, forgot she took her meds so took more, rinse and repeat.

I am pretty certain you are supposed to mix alcohol with the ADHD meds. The fact that she did that could point to intentional OD. Unfortunately, the only person who can truly answer these questions is Anne herself.
