I was planning on putting labels with our name and mobile no. on our stuff for touring round the parks eg back pack, mobiles, cameras etc. High chance that the kind person who doesn't pocket our stuff and contacts us will be American and therefore have a US mobile. How do I write our mobile no. on the label?

I always thought it was straight forward as you drop the 1st 0 and replace with +44 (eg 01234 567890 would become +441234 567890), but when I've booked our dining reservations and have to put our cell phone no. in, it doesn't recognise this at all. Incidentally, I have managed to book our reservations but have thrown any old numbers that slightly resemble our no. until it accepts it - have never worked out how I've made it work!

I have managed with the +44 etc to ring my husbands mobile out there from my mobile but don't know if its different from a US mobile.

I'm probably being really think but thanks for helping anyway!

No, it's +44 - the reason it won't work when you put it into MDE or WDW systems is because their system is set up just to take US numbers. To overcome that, you just drop the '0' and on't add anything. But, in order to ring a Uk mobile, yes you just add +44 and drop the 0.

One other point, if I found something with a phone number on it I would probably just turn it into lost and found.

Besides any issues trying to call you (would I be charged international rates), we now have to meet up.

Much easier letting lost and found deal with it though I'm not sure if even they will call you. But use that number to identify your stuff when you call.

Good point Chartle. Thinking about what I would do realistically if I found something with a phone number, is I would ring that number and let them know I've found their object. I would then let them know I'll be taking it to Lost and Found and probably would do that when it suit us sometime that day!

You might want to put both the 011 44 number down as if it gets handed to lost and found they won't be using cell phones to call you and the land lines don't use the +44. They probably know this with the amount of UK visitors but might be safer to have both on there.
