Ring Worms????

DS's friend was diagnosed with ring worms yesterday and given a cream to use for two weeks. My question is this, is she contagious? She is having a birthday party tomorrow and I wondered how ring worms is transmitted and if DS could catch it.

I just took in three minature pinschers at my shelter that all have a fungal infection - it is highly contagious to humans!! Be very careful.

Its absolutely wild though.....shine a black light over the area where the ringworm/fungus is and it GLOWS!

UGH!!! Yes it is. My freshman roommate had ringworm. TWICE!!!

As far as I know, with fungal infections, they are not contagious after possibly 24 hours on the medicine. Call your dr. and check, then you might not have to change the party.

Highly contagious fungal infection ....

Jake got it during wrestling season freshman year... those High School mats are notorious for spreading the fungus from one kind to the next..
The ref's check each of the wrestlers prior to each meet... but those kids are sweating all over the mats and each other....

the doc told me to have Jake was with SAFEGUARD immediately after each practice and meet.. It worked well as a preventative measure.. he did not get the ringworm fungal infection this year.
However his skin got incredibly dry..

My Pug is currently battling ringworm as we speak - and I think I had it on my FACE last week... ugh! i second it being highly contagious. I'm doing laundry all over the place - sheets, towels, pillows, dog toys.... *sigh*.
