I am going to post this one more time....If you are treating your skine ringworm with over the counter creams....such as lotrimin.....be sure to use it for 2-4 weeks....on the affected area....It will clear up quickly but the spores remain active and need the longer treatment. Another problem with stopping too early is the spores can become resistent to the Lotrimin and not work...I would have it looked at by your dr...asap....Also, if anyone has ringworm of the scalp get treatment....My dd had a little boy in her kinder class with a horrible case of ringworm, it became infected from scratching, and he had to be hospitalized....
A note on animal with ringworm. I asked our vet about it...when we bought a new puppy many years ago and he said that it is very difficult to rid a pet infected with ringworm.... Thankfully our new puppy did not have it but I had just heard the story from dd about the little boy in her class and I had a child with ringworm of the scalp at my school that lost a large patch of hair on top of his head from it....
