Rides you love vs. rides you don't

This is a subject that I wanted to discuss concerning Universal Studios. It may be a fun exercise:

OK, is there a ride that a lot of people like, but you just, uh, don't? For me, I can't stand the Shrek ride! What ruins it for me is that annoying sound of the hydraulics! Seriously, NO one that tested the ride felt that "Goodness! This sound is annoying?!" It ruins the ride for me.

Conversely, people have said that they need to run E.T., but I like that ride! Call me nostalgic, but the ride reminds me of the movie, and even though it's cheesy, I like the cheese! I like riding that ride at least once!

I'll go on most rides at US but I'm not overly keen on E.T.

I loved Jurassic Park, the Simpsons and Jaws - Ever since I was little I've always wanted to go on that ride. (Jaws and Jurassic Park are my two fave films ever, so for me it's great having rides based on them )

I never notice the hydraulic sounds on Shrek, but I need to do it again.

I can appreciate almost any ride, except I don't like out of date, or wooden roller coasters due to jerkiness. So I can appreciate Hulk and DC, and stuff, but not favorites.

Rides I actually "love" because they do what I look for in a theme park ride, which is either put me inside the movie, or put me in another world type of thing. And these are not necessarily in order.

1) Jurassic Park
2) Spiderman
3) The Mummy
4) ET
5) Jaws
6) Men In Black

Honorable mention: Terminator, Twister, Disaster. (I have not ridden FJ yet but I've heard its the new #1, nor have I been on Simpsons yet, nor RRR.)

I was disappointed in Jaws. Not sure what I was expecting. But it wasn't as good as what I was hoping. I thought MIB was terrible. I couldn't shoot anything and the trigger was tiring my hand. So I ended up putting the gun down halfway through and just sat there. I did not like Shrek. Not worth the wait at all (and we had express passes).

I'm not exactly sure what they could have done differently with Jaws, I mean it attacks the boat, obviously you couldn't have it overturn the boat. Granted you really have to be a fan of the movie probably, and you kind of have to get into it. But if I had the budget and time to re-do it, I'm not exactly sure what you could do to make it drastically different.

I'm actually kinda shocked that someone wouldn't like MIB! See? That's what I was looking for! And Jaws? Really??? Jaws was fantastic! And it's still a little scary (if you have the right actor, of course.)

I would like to know of ONE person that likes Twister. The only redeeming quality of it is the queue and that you can tell your kids "See, that's what a sound stage looks like." Storm Force? I've never even heard of it. Is it at US or IOA?

Terminator is cool in it's outdated glory. I guess I love the '80s.

I like Twister, and my kids love it

I'd have to say the only rides I really don't care for are The Simpson's and Poseidon's Fury (I liked the old version, though). Oh, and Storm Force. BTW, it is in IOA behind Spiderman, it is essentially an X-Men themed version of the teacups at the Magic Kingdom.

When we take someone for the first time to the parks, we go on everything (except Storm Force, lol).

Storm Force Acceletron is over beside Hulk. It is a teacups type of ride.

Really interesting what people like and don't like.

I really did not enjoy Disaster. Jaws was okay, but nothing wonderful. I liked the Simpsons and MIB a lot and enjoyed ET just for the nostalgia factor.

I like Twister, its not on my top list of favorites, but I think its pretty neat. Its a Tornado simulator and I think it does a good job (as good as you could do) in simulating a tornado. I mean you can't exactly point a jet engine at people and blow them over with wind, that would be dangerous. I think its cool how you can see the tornado forming on the video screen, then it comes towards you, then the smoke. I like it. I wouldn't stand in line for an hour to see it, but if i can walk on, I do it every trip.

For me I would have to say the only rides I don't go on at IOA/US would be:

IOA:
storm force - As I am getting older, I find that my body is less willing to put up with spinning rides.
1fish2fish - same as above

US:
Disaster - I enjoyed it back in the day when it was earthquake (90's?). I find that it is getting cheesier and cheesier with all the new "upgrades" (if you want to call it that)

I really don't 'dislike' any of the rides at US, but I HAVE TO ride MIB, The Mummy, Simpsons, and Rip Ride Rockit.. I used to be all about Jaws, but the last two times I've been on it, my butt has gotten SOAKED... Just my butt, nothing else.. So I've decided for now, until I go with my husband (who has never been), I won't ride again.

I haven'y been to US in 17 years but looking forward to going back. DM and DD have never been and are dying to go.

I love ET it is a favorite movie of mine. I love the ride even though it is cheesy. Do they still program your name in and when leaving ET says goodbye? I know cheesy!

I also liked the earthquake and King Kong rides too! Def need to head to US and IoA. Just waiting for all the potter mania to die down. Not a fan of it.

They still did the "goodbye" in 2008 when we were there. We had more fun with that than the ride itself.

My son's name wasn't something they could program in and he was dissapointed on our first go-round, so we rode again and had a little fun with creating unique names by putting two or more shorter names together (Things like Billy and Bob. Just so we could hear ET say 'Goodbye Billy Bob'. And I HAD to use Elliot, just so I could hear ET use that name!)

Then we started using girl names for the guys and vice versa. We were just being silly, but the folks manning those stations were getting a kick out of it and helped us with some unusual names we could use!

I really can't name a ride we didn't like. There are some we may not bother with on our next trip, but they were all fun once.

I don't really dislike any of the attractions at either park but for me the two attractions that I always skip are: The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad show and Terminator 2: 3-D. I've never cared for either one. Also...I won't ride The Simpsons again for the same reason I stopped riding BTTF back in the day...My head would get beaten and battered like a soccer ball when I had to sit in the back row...which was all the time.

On the other hand...I really enjoy MIB, Revenge of the Mummy, E.T and the Studios and most of the attractions at IOA.

I've done everything at least 50 times but I still continue to go.

Simpsons.....Like the ride....hate the queue.

The queue is too slow once you get in the staging room......even with fastpass.

That what I loved about the Jimmy N ride.....you walk right in
