Hi!
I just called UO to inquire about room rates in discounts for 12/22-12/24. We are planning to be in orlando from 12/16-1/2. staying at WDW 12/16-12/24, then with friends the rest of the time. I was thinking that mabe we would bouce to HRH for a couple nights but trying to decide whether to do that or just by the day of visit express pass. We have been to universal quite a few times, so riding the rides multiple notes is not a requirement. However, when I was making the reservation, I was told that Rip Ride Rocket and Forbidden Journey do not have express lines. I think those are probably the only ones I'd want to do more than once. So here's my plus and minus of staying on site:
Plus - Universal Express, ability to experience the "night life" (we haven't ever partied at Citywalk because we had to drive "home" , easier to get there early morning, opportunity to experience those resorts. Are there any special holiday decorations that are really worthwhile to see?
Minus - It adds another move to our stay. Our last couple stays in Central FLA we've moved 3-4 or more times and what a hassle. Of course, this is only one move, but I don't know how long we can stay with friends, so may end up with having to move in our seond week. It's also much more expensive to stay on site then to get the day passes (there's 3 of us). The day express passes would allow us to pick the best day or days to do the parks weather wise and not be locked in to whatever day we're staying on site. I have already purchased the 7 day park tickets (did it when they were $99) so whatever day we go, if we got an express pass, it's not like we couldn't go back other days if we miss something.
Anyone want to weigh in with your pluses or minuses?
Also, for those that have staed on site recently, did you know that Rip Ride rocket didn't have an express line?
TIA
