just wanted to get some thoughts/feedback as to which rides in FL i can have dd8months in a carrier when we're riding together.

from what i've gathered, i know dd will have to sit next to me if we ride the tea cups...but i was wondering about the other rides, like peter pan, dumbo, mr. toad's, pinocchio, alice, snow white...any thoughts? i just want to be sure i'm prepared while i'm standing in line...like if i have dd in my bjorn, to remove her from the carrier when we get closer to the front of the line, or if it will be okay for me to leave her in bjorn for the ride.

how about rides in the other lands...like haunted mansion, potc, jungle cruise???? :confused3

I think anything in FL she'll have to be beside you except for Dumbo (as long as the belt fits over you both), Casey Jr., Storybook Boats, and the Carousel.

It was easy to hold my 1 year old for pirates and jungle cruise. Probably could have for haunted mansion, but didn't try.

What carrier are you going to use (yes, I'm a carrier junky)

On my DS's first two trips (7 weeks old and 13 weeks old respectively) he rode everything that I rode in FL (which is basically everything EXCEPT the teacups and Matterhorn) from the comfort of his carrier. On our trip last month he rode next to me or his dad on everything except some of the rides that we previously mentioned such as Dumbo and Casey Jr.

i have a zolowear sling and a baby bjorn. still deciding which one i'm going to use. i've used the bjorn several times with dd and she doesn't seem to mind. i used the sling for dd2, and only used the sling with dd8months was only a couple months old...so i haven't used the sling with dd8months yet...and i'm thinking DL is not a good place to try it out...if dd8months is okay with the bjorn, i think that's what i'll use.

thanks, that's good to know! :thumbsup2

If you plan to wear your LO for a long time I'd consider getting an Ergo or a Beco, they will be SO much more comfortable than a bjorn.

I totally agree with this!! Plus, with a child over 6 mo, you can back carry, and it is great! (with the exception being you can't ride like that). Our DS was considerably older, but we held him on our laps for all the rides except dumbo... side note: small child who can reach the control and figure it out can equal motion sickness! It was BAD! lol.

i don't plan to wear dd for extended periods of time...just don't want to be carrying for a long time if we're waiting in a long line. she's pretty happy being in the stroller, so she'll be in there if we're not on a ride or waiting in line to get on a ride.
