Rides to avoid if you have vertigo

Just my thoughts...
I have occasional vertigo too. With that said, I would never go on the teacups or motion movies. I can ride Buzz w/o any problem (you control if/when you spin). Soarin' is my favorite; there is one part that bothers me though--it's when a helicopter takes off an aircraft carrier...I just close my eyes and I'm fine. I would definately give this one a try if I were him; it's great and if he begins to feel bad all he has to do is close his eyes. There's a nice breeze for the whole ride which is great, too.

All of the "mountains" are fine; Space mountain I can only ride once a trip though. I didn't like Everest either (as PP said, it was the backwards part that killed me). I might try it again though. I've never been when they had the "easy" Mission Space, but I think I'll try it when we go in March. Haunted Mansion is fine for me too.

HTH!

my sister has vertigo but not too bad. the rides she won't do is tot or teacups too. she also has low blood pressure, do all of you who have vertigo also have low blood pressure? i was just wondering if the two go hand in hand...

Vertigo is more of an inner ear problem but I don't know if there is a combined problem or cause with low blood pressure.

I could never ever do Everest or R&R Roller Coaster I would be a mess the rest of the day. Its like being seasick in a way.

I suffer from vertigo myself, the longest I suffered from vertigo is for 4 weeks straight :scared1: , I have had an MRI, seen the endo. and many many other doctors for this and I'm very careful with myself, the only rides that I avoid is teacups, mission space, tot. and anything that might turn my head upside down. I have been great on everything else.

Yes, My DH has very low blood pressure along with his vertigo..I never put the 2 together though.

I also can't believe how many of you guys are mentioning Mission Space:scared1: as a vertigo triger ..I'm not letting DH near it, it's a shame ..it sounds kind of fun, but I'll skip it with him and he won't feel deprived:)

I have high blood pressure :confused3 . BYW, I rode TOT and it didn't bother me; can't say I loved the ride in general, but it didn't trigger my vertigo.

DH has vertigo and he has a big list of things we love to do but don't because it isn't worth the risk:

RnR Coaster
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Expedition Everest
Tea Cups

He was fine with Mission to Mars.

My DH has vertigo.

He cannot ride the Tea Cups, Astro Orbitor, Star Tours or Space Mountain. He is fine on BTMRR, ToT, Splash, Barnstormer, Test Track etc. He has never tried Mission Space (either version)

I suffer from vertigo but my triggers are not the rides or maybe I'm too excited to think about it while I'm riding. What really gets me is elevators, walking on a dock (as in getting on and off the boat to DTD from POR) and the movie in France at Epcot! Those were terrible for me.

Star tours gave me vertigo I was so dizzy I didn't want to get on the plane home and I had been on Star Tours before. I haven't been on it since however. I don't know what it did to me.

I did Star Tours around 10am in the morning last time. When I got off I was so sick I had to go back to the hotel and sleep it off. It took me over 2 hours to get back to 'normal'.

I'm afraid to do any of the simulator rides, mission space and the teacups are out. I can do Dumbo, Soarin, Haunted Mansion...many of the rides on that list I can do without a problem.

My DH really has a hard time with all the simulation rides, including Soarin', even harder than the "real" rides.

Expedition Everest has a section that goes backwards in the dark; it could cause some dizziness.

Mad Tea Party, Expedition Everest, Rock n Roller Coaster, Mission Space, Tower of Terror, Space Mountain and depending on how bad maybe even Big Thunder Mountain and Dinosaur.

We got it from the mouth of a CM. My mom had positional vertigo and Mission Space is a big NO-NO!!!! We would have spent a bit of time in the ER in Celebration if she didn't take the door out!

The only three that I tend to avoid (but have and could go on, if I didn't mind a few minutes of dizziness) would be the Tea Cups, RnRC and MS (fast side). All else is fair game!!:goodvibes
