I hate coaster type rides with drops or even "nice" rides with surprise drops, e.g. Splash Mountain. I would like to know which rides I need to avoid at US and IOA.

I would say at IOA - avoid Hulk, Duelling Dragons and Ripsaw Falls - maybe even Jurassic Park as there is a drop similar to Splash Mountain.

At Universal, possibly Back To The Future as the ride is jerky and quite intense.

add The Mummy to your avoid list at Universal. It has some drops and it has a coaster section.

i second not going on mummy
its "nice" in the beginning and then goes into a relativly rough coaster part

Oh you'll live. You see, labeling rides as scarey is something the parks need to stop doing. Instead, call them fun rides instead of thrill rides. Many people in the general public (GP) don't go on rides because they say they're scarey. Or the people won't go on them as a way to get attention from others. Oh well, you're just missing out on some great rides.

Thanks everyone for your advice. :disrocks:

You are no doubt right Robvia, I will miss out on some great rides. :sad1:
However its not the "scare" part of the rides that is scaring me. I'm scared of throwing up on the rides!!!! :scared:
Believe me the attention you get when you are being sick is not one you try and cultivate.Especially at a theme park!!
The drops make me throw up, or at least make me feel so ill that I walk around the rest of the day feeling awful, or worse still need to return to my hotel room.
I should have labelled my post "Rides that make you throw up" :faint:
My appologies for not making myself clear. :guilty:

I haven't been on Back To The Future for years as it always makes me fill ill.
Fear of spoiling the rest of the day, playing it safe I guess.

Spiderman is a maybe seeing how it feels like a sudden 100ft. drop but is not actually one. but really everyone covered the others. Also Dr. Dooms fear fall is like tower of terror so avoid that one it has a fast drop.

Neither have I. I'm the biggest coaster fan in the world, but simulators make me sick. They trick the brain into thinking you are going a direction you are not. Plus BTTF is just rough. The sickness lasts an hour after riding. It even happens on Jimmy Neutron, but not as bad.

You could try a motion sickness patch, they sell them at drug stores. They're meant for people going on boat rides, but they might work for the coasters.

actually its a 400 foot drop but if you look to the side you can see how unreal it is (if you focus on the screen it looks really real!)

sorry i just had to be the fact freak on this one LOL :rotfl:

I close my eyes on the simulator rides when they start ''dropping".Thanks for the tip for looking over to the side, metsfan 11. At least that way I'll know when it is safe to watch straight on again & not miss everything! :rotfl:
I actually do use the motion patches for any boat rides...never consided using them for rides before...good idea and worth a try. I would love to do Splash Mountain over at WDW.
Thanks again everyone.

I used to get really bad motion sickness. I started using Dramamine for that and it was marvelous! I actually went back onto BTTF and didn't feel sick. THe previous time I was sick for the rest of the day because of that ride. You take Dramamine once a day (I took it in the morning). It lasts for 24 hours.

Just a suggestion....

Jo

The only rides that made me queezey were Spiderman (and probably b/c I rode that right after the Hulk) and Back to the Future- I nearly got sick ON that ride- stay far far away! :rotfl:
