Well, not that global of a question, but are there rides that are definitely not comfortable or a plus sized person can't fit on?

I'm Pooh sized, big belly and short. Husband is big belly and a bit taller.

I'm considering the Everest ride and loved Thunder Mountain and wonder if I'll be able to ride these. Also want to do the dinosaur ride.

Are there any rides that are definitely not built for a plus sized person?

I might like to do Tower of Terror, though may have to go solo, although no way I'll ride Rock N Roller Coaster or Space Mountain, so husband will go solo on those two. Will we be able to ride those?

I'm a pretty big guy and had no issues riding anything due to my size (including BTMRR, ToT, EE and SM). I actually had more issues with my height (I'm 6') and having to fold my legs and getting on and off rides or getting my knees banged than I did with anything that had to do with my weight.

I'm going to comment re: rides at DL that are the same rides at WDW that you asked about as I don't think there would be a difference. I am a 18-20 (I'm a shortie 5'5) and my bf is a 2X and 6 feet tall and we have rode everything at DL. I have been on space mountain, he has been on Tower of Terror and we have both been on Thunder Mountain. We have never had any issues at Disneyland, I think because it's a family park and rides are for everyone unlike Universal where his belly gets in the way or he's too tall and the harness that goes over the shoulders for the upsidedown rides wont go down all the way. I hope this helps. It's hard when your pooh sized, trust me I know. Ive been dieting so I can ride some of the rides at Universal and have lost 30lbs but it's sooo hard :)

Honestly not sure but an observation I had on our last trip:
I am what I would consider "average" size guy. I am 5'11", 185lbs, so I am not tall or short or fat or skinny.
With that being said I don't see how an over weight person would be a able to ride Space Mountain. I had to make an effort to get out of that ride and wondered that fact to the CM and she seemed to agree and told me "You would be surprised."
I will be 6 weeks post op from an ACL reconstruction so I plan on skipping SM because I wonder if getting in/out of that ride will be too taxing. I am glad I rode it twice (Both sides.) on our last trip or else I would disappointed.

Sorry Montegut, I don't have any 1st hand input on your question but here's a link for you, to "Walt Disney World At LARGE, Disney through the eyes of people
who know one size does not fit all": http://allears.net/tp/ridsiz.htm

TheJoel, I was at WDW 2 months ago. I had had surgery for a ruptured elbow ligament, but was 9 months post-op so wasn't really thinking much about it--until I rode SM! The only way I got through the ride was by holding my elbow as close to my body as possible and pinning it down with my good arm. So I think you're doing the right thing by giving SM a miss.

I've been a size 22-24 at wow and ridden everything- including space mountain without a problem.

GK thanks. Any other rough rides I should avoid?

I am a pretty big guy (5' 9" about 280 lbs) with a pretty big belly and I have had absolutely no problem riding any attraction at Walt Disney World. I ride everything from Dumbo and Teacups to Rock n Roller Coaster and Everest with ease. Space Mountain seems like it would be more of a mobility issue than one of size. If you can get from a sitting position on the floor to a standing position then Space won't be a problem. On Kali River you and your husband may need to sit in different seats because in the past the seat belt was not long enough to cover both me and my plus size companion. On all other rides with a seat belt just grab the belt before you sit down and pull it all the way out. Then take your seat and fasten it. This makes it much easier and faster. Have a magical trip and no worries about your size!

I'm 5'3 and a size 20. I'm pear shaped with a larger rear and thighs. I only had problems with sum of all thrills at epcot. My behind barely fit. However, you're not missing much on this ride.

You shouldn't have any problem on any of the rides. I'm Pooh sized I've never had any real problems. Probably the most problem I've had is with the Teacups. The dooe to get into the cups is small and I had to squeeze thru it.

I am a size 28 and pear shaped.
MK-
space mountain is a little struggle to get out of, even the front seat.
HM so glad the turnstiles are gone!!!! No problem with the ride.
Tomorrowland speedway- waited in line, and kept on walking when I saw the actual seat.
AO- never been on due to other people's experience.

Epcot-
TTrack- DH has to clip in my seatbelt
Soaring- no problems
MSpace- no problems

DHS-
SWars- seat kind of tight
TT- no problems, my favorite ride
RNR- I sit in the front seat, easier to get into and out
Muppet 3D- these seats are very tight for me, very tight.

AK-
Everest- no problem
Dinosaur- my hips hurt after riding this.

Hope this helps.

Both my partner and I are pooh sized - I am average height and all belly while she is short and her weight is distributed all over. We never have any issue riding anything, even together.

There are some things that are easier to get in and out of, but as the poster upthread mentions, Space Mountain is hard to get in and out of even if you're fit. Thunder Mountain is snug seat-width wise, as is Splash Mountain and Snow White's Scary Adventures for however long it may remain open is also snug all around. Snug, but NOT unbearable. Just expect some extra closeness. :) Primeval Whirl is fine as long as you're the only 2 in the car but the seats in the ride car are small there too anyway. Everest and TOT are my favorite rides - no issues there.

My advice as far as places like TOT, Dinosaur, Test Track, Soarin, that have seatbelts - get to your seat and pull out the seatbelt all the way before you sit down. I usually sit about halfway down and belt it in before sitting completely. This helps immensely and mostly because I'm too clumsy to get the seatbelt in one go.

I'm plus sized (20-22, was closer to a 24 on my first trip)

The only trouble I had (and I've ridden most everything) was on Space Mountain and Astro Orbiter. Both of these rides were okay to get in but they are inside of tube like cars with your legs extended and to get out I needed to use my arms to lift myself up and back to get my legs up under me to push out of the vehicle. I did this without much trouble, but if you have trouble lifting up with your arms it would be harder to get out. My mom is also heavy and we had to help her out of Space Mountain because she had trouble lifting herself out and then she has weak knees/legs and she couldn't use them to help exit.

Oh and Kali, Soaring, Mission Space and Star Tours have seats that are like airplane seats so you're right up next to the other riders. You might touch hips or thighs with the person next to you, but I only really noticed this on Kali (which I remember as having individual seatbelts) and Soarin where I sat next to another plus sized lady and we had a big laugh when she apologized for overflowing a bit and I mentioned I was right there as well.

There is a great thread labled the everything pooh sized and it has some great info

I'm a happy plus size of 24 and carry most of my weight in my mid section. I also have a condition where my knee caps are dissolving so going from the floor or group up can be comical. Oh and I'm short as an added bonus. The only main problems I could see would be your DH on his height. There were many rides where my knees were quite uncomfortable because even with my lack of legs I was squished. We were just there last week and here's what I rode...

Everything. At all 4 parks.

If you have decent upper body strength you can use your arms to lift yourself out of rides like Space Mountain and certain boat type of rides. Even with cruddy knees I was able to easily get in and out of Space Mountain.

As for Dinosaur I had read reports of Pooh sized folks getting bruised and having their upper thighs hurt after the ride. We rode it twice. The first time we were in the front and you get jarred around less it seems up front, so no issues at all. The next time we were in the back and I did get bounced around more, but not so much I'd say it was painful. This was just my experience though.

As for seat belts I just pulled the belt out all of the way, and it was always long enough for me to buckle it before I even sat down. I did have some issues hitting the belt connector on Star Tours but I think that was more from lack of brain function on my part. I just couldn't find the darn thing. Once I did I had no issues.

Tower of Terror and Aerosmith posed no issues at all for me. I wish we'd had a front seat in the car, but that was due to my legs being cramped in the back. There's more leg room in the front of the cars.

I really don't see where either of your sizes would be an issue for any ride. If you have decent upper body strength some of the lower rides shouldn't be an issue, but it really has nothing to do with size, just more of a getting off the ground type of thing. I understand the concern of not fitting on a ride due to size, but I just don't see where this would be an issue at WDW. Relax and enjoy your trip!

Not sure about all rides but I would say 95% of them you shouldn't have a problem with..

I found that Big Thunder was ok, so were Splash, Tower of Terror, Mission space, Dinosaur and Kilimanjaro Safari. I stayed off Rock N Roller Coaster and Everest.
You might want to ask the question on the DISabilities board?

When we were there a few weeks ago I was able to ride every single thing - I am a size 22/24. There were a few turnstiles I had to turn sideways to get through.

I'm sure I was comical getting out of Space Moutain. I just had to put my purse on the ground and then get out because I needed both hands to pull myself up.

I don't think you will really have a problem. I'm 5'2" have wide hips and a belly and I never had any big problems, and I have done pretty much everything. The Sum Of All Thrills was a tight fit for my bottom because of my larger hips, but I did magage to fit. One thing Disney is good at is trying to accommodate many types of people. I wouldn't worry about it, you should be fine. :thumbsup2
