We are going to universal orlando for the 1st time this summer. We are a major Disney family. I have twin 13 year olds. One who is a little bit of a wimp so we are trying to figure out rides that might work. At Disney she loves all of the rides in star wars (rise, millennium), she loves soarin and remy at Epcot, She will ride all but space mountain at MK and is so so about flight at Animal kingdom. She will not ride rockin roller coaster or Everest so we know the big roller coasters are out (I will not ride those either - lol). I am trying to give her examples like if you like this you will like this. I know that Universal has a lot of 3d/4d simulator type rides and at Disney she likes all of those but is so so about flight. Any thoughts? Thanks

At Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure I'd recommend the Cat in the Hat ride, the ET ride, Men in Black and Dispicable me. They don't have as much lighter rides as Disney offers.

I assume you/she will skip:
Hulk
Velocicoaster
Rip Ride Rocket
Dr Doom Fearfall

Additionally, might skip Dudley Dooright flume and/or Jurassic Park River Adventure due to drops. Take a look at the rides themselves, the drops are visible so she can gauge. Probably skip pterodon fliers if heights/flight are a problem but I suspect she is too tall for that one anyways.

Hagrids, Mummy, & Forbidden Journey could go either way. Hagrids has a lot of speed but no real height or major drops. Plus it is an awesome themed ride & story. She should try the sidecar first to feel more secure. Mummy is very well themed & neat ride, it's inside & doesn't have tall drops, but it is a coaster for half the ride. FJ has no actual heights or drops, but it tilts you back & simulates flying, and the seating is such that you can't really see the people next to you (meaning she won't be able to get comfort/reassurance during the ride if it's too much). She might really like those 3 or might try them and not get back on.

Everything else should be ok. Beginning of Gringotts angles you down suspensefully in the dark, so it looks like it'll be a big drop but it doesn't actually go down very much.

If she's fine on Millennium Falcon /Star Tours she should be fine with the various 3D rides that have scenes indicating height but it is clear you are not airborne. Spiderman, Transformers, Kong, Simpsons, Minions, and Fallon fall in this category to varying degrees. Actually, so does Forbidden Journey but the seating and motion make more of an actual illusion of height/flying. The others you are seated in a row/car with just a lap bar (not even a bar on Kong).

My ride wimp friend loves Hagrids & Mummy (her favorite rides) despite hating drops & almost not riding Hagrids the first time. Hagrids is her max for coasters. She does like Slinky Dog, refuses to do Splash Mt or Dudley log flume, begrudgingly does JP River Adventure because she really likes the majority of the ride and the "hated" drop is quick.

I agree with most of these. I would say Forbidden Journey is more intense and is probably a question mark for her. I am somewhat of a ride coward and I have always had a great time at Universal Orlando. If she can handle 3d/4d simulator rides she is pretty much set. It's absolutely possible to have a great time and skip the more intense rides/roller coasters. If she is a Harry Potter fan, consider doing the full walk queue for Forbidden Journey. It takes you through Hogwarts and it's a lot of fun for someone who's really into Harry Potter. Right before the end of the queue you can tell a team member you do not want to ride, and they will send you out a different exit.
