My husband feels we've outgrown Disney because most of the rides are too 'childish' for our little thrill seeker. Outside of Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain I'm blanking out -- Help please or if you know if a link that has all the rides in the parks that would work too.

Disney doesn't really have A LOT of thrill rides...but there's also Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster at DHS and Test Track at Epcot.

Unless he is an exceptionally tall 7 year old, he is not going to be allowed to ride most thrill rides in other parks.

If you click on Theme Parks at the top of the page you will find links of attractions for all 4 parks.

Expedition Everest, Rock n Roll Coaster, Test Track, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur I would consider, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain(smaller scale) Splash has a big drop. You could always do a day or 2 at Universal or SeaWorld but I still think he has not outgrown Disney at 7!

Agreed, suggesting a switch to IOA or Bush Gardens probably won't help since a 7 year old would not be able to ride most of those coasters and unfortunately Disney and "Thrill" do not go together .... I think the most thrilling ride in all of Disney parks is Rock-N-Rollercoaster and that is not saying much, at least not when you compare it to say Sheikra at Busch Gardens!

And don't forget that the new mine train ride will be opening soon!

Outgrown Disney at age 7! :faint:
Tower of Terror
Rock N Rollercoaster
Dinosaur
Mission Space
Test Track
Splash Mountain

Thank you all - DD is rather petite (44" tall) so it doesn't look to be a whole heck of alot of ride options. Have to find a new plan.

Have you considered Disneyland? We were just there recently with a 5 year old who was able to ride a lot of the thrill rides with Space Mountain being her favourite.

Outgrown Disney with a 44" 7 year old?

I can relate to that, my youngest ds was more of a thrill ride lover when he was that young. He didn't want to do the rides the "babies" were doing, he wanted the BIG ones.

But a kid that young is still too short to ride thrill rides at other parks...so you end up waiting anyway.

But most of the "big ones" at other parks require a 54" minimum height (sometimes 48" if it doesn't go upside down).

The OP's 44" daughter would be too short for any of the 5 big coasters at Busch Gardens (3 are 54" minimum, and 2 are 48" minimum).

She'd be too short for either of the 2 big coasters at SeaWorld (both 54").

She'd be too short to ride either of the 2 big coasters at Universal Studios Florida (51" and 48")

She'd be too short to ride either of the 2 big coasters at Islands of Adventure (both 54"), not to mention too short for Harry Potter.

I completely understand that the OP's child hasn't physically outgrown WDW. I was just saying I can relate to that mindset that they have because their child feels the rides they can ride are babyish (compared to the bigger thrilling ones they want to ride). I went through the same thing with my ds and now he is big enough to ride all the coasters at the other parks so we are trying Universal for the first time this spring and we'll definitely go back to SW and BG so he can ride the ones he couldn't last time.

I sympathize with you for having a petite daredevil. My DD didn't hit the magic height of 48 inches until she was almost 9. When she was 8, she swam like a fish but couldn't go down the waterslide at our local pool. Disney is much better than most parks at providing decently thrilling options for shorter kids. Your DD can go on pretty much everything mentioned except RnRc. Unfortunately, even though other parks have more intense coasters, they would just be frustrating for a too-short kid.

To me the Disney experience isn't about thrill rides, there are quite a few other other parks that do thrill rides better than Disney, I'm 40 and still haven't outgrown Disney.

Since your location says New Jersey maybe consider doing a trip to Hershey Park to get her thrill ride fix, she is tall enough to ride quite a few thrill rides there including a few of the roller coasters.

Knoebels is another good park for younger thrill seekers, she is tall enough to ride both coasters and there are only a hand full of rides she is to short for.

My boys (7 & 9) love both parks.
