Rides for a 15mo?

Hi everyone,

This is kind of a strange question, but we're going to WDW in August, when ds will be 15mo. I'm trying to figure out what rides he'll be able to go on, but I'm just not sure.

Does anyone know what the age limits are for most rides? Thanks!

I think you will be surprised about how much he will be able to do....he can go on any ride where there isn't a height requirement. Be prepared for loud rides/shows and you may even want to read ride descriptions in a guide book to ensure the rides are appropriate....my fave is the Unofficial Guide. For example, Snow White is scarier than Haunted Mansion....and if you think there is a scary part coming up just give him a little cuddle and cover his eyes and he won't even notice!

The 3d shows like Honey I Shrunk the Audience and It's Tough to be a Bug may be too much....but Philharmagic and Muppets 3d should be fine....just plan on everything being loud! I recommend sitting all the way in the back for the Little Mermaid show as the Ursula puppet can be very intimidating if you are close!

PS Just wanted to add that I found a hip hammock worked well at that age in lines, rides, etc where the stroller couldn't go.

Have a great trip!

There is a lot for little ones to do. Like PP said, be prepared...and prepare your child. I know he is young, but if a child is used to the story of Snow White it may not be that scary. Also he will go be your reactions. Like POTC, if he gets scared with the loud volume, callon balls, etc, change the subject...start singing the song, look for the dog, make fun of how silly the people look. Rides are scary if you let them be, but they don't have to be...to my kids HM is hillarious.

He is going to have a blast. We took my DS this past December and he rode a lot more than I thought he was going to be able to ride. He loved the shows and the parade, characters and even the restaurants. His main thrill was being outdoors all day for two weeks!!! He loved the sights and sounds of the parks and I we got his FIRST haircut on Main Street. THe BEST pictures EVER! It was awesome. You do have to slow down a bit, know where the baby changing stations are...use these instead of the regular bathroom changing tables...much more comfy and clean in my opinion.

Bring along a harness if he is a wonderer (like my son) and a lightweight stroller that reclines for naps during the day and take advantage of the play areas and pool during the afternoons (not sure when you are going, but it gets very hot and crowded in the Summer in the afternoons).

Your baby will have a great time...and so will you. WE are going back in May and he will be eighteen months and I cant wait :)

Thank you so much! These are great responses.

A hip hammock is brilliant and I didn't know about the baby changing stations... great tip!

thanks again.

If you don't mind me asking, which one? If we go, my dd will be 13 mos at the time, I've never done slings with any of my kids, but she's a chunker now at 7 mos (22lbs) so I can't imagine 13 mos, LOL

It was this one, or similar:

http://www.amazon.com/Playtex-Hip-Hammock-Standard-Black/dp/B0007XTN5S

It really made it easier to carry baby, but you still felt every pound after a while! Now there are probably better/more comfortable designs out there, so consider trying out several. I also wouldn't spend this much...maybe check out a consignment store or clearance sales. Happy planning!
