Rides Down

If the ride is down when it closes and you had a fastpass, does it give you a multiple experience pass? Do those last through the next day?

If they convert to ME less than an hour to park closing, they work the next day.

I didn’t know this! But we must have missed that by ten minutes with a 6:50-7:50 ride time. DCA closed at 8 tonight. I just checked to be sure and they are gone. But good to know for future.

If you ask at guest services, they’ll usually convert it to one you can use the next day if you explain that you didn’t have a chance to use it.

Sometimes sympathetic ride CMs can do this, too.

While the lines at guest services may cancel out the benefit, I do think it’s worth (kindly) pointing out all of the lost FPs to them and seeing what they can do. They want you to be happy...

This makes sense.

At WDW, one advantage is that, because of all the on-site hotels, we can usually sort out stuff like this at the hotel when the kids are asleep, usually with little/no wait. For example, we had Tower of Terror go down and we got an anytime FP, but we couldn't use it that day. At night, I spoke to guest services at our hotel (CBR - it's not like we were staying at a deluxe resort), and said we were park-hopping the next day at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. They converted it to TWO anytime FPs per person, one for EACH of MK and Epcot the next day. Although it had a few exclusions, it was still really useful.

When stuff goes wrong at DL/DCA, we will probably skip guest services and just move on - our experience in the parks is that CMs are always nice but it's not worth the lines/hassle when you could otherwise be enjoying the parks.

I wonder too why rides are down so often? That's a bummer. I don't recall other theme parks or wdw rides being down very often??

I am really surprised at Haunted Mansion. Must be a really big problem.

I've been noticing that over the past 2 weeks or so there has been a few instances of most of the major rides going down at the same time. Anyone have a clue what would cause that?

The haunted mansion situation is really odd too.

Just checked the app and Haunted Mansion is showing that it is up and distributing fastpasses! Run! Only 30 minutes for now!
