Will I get in trouble if I start taking pictures on a ride? I'd really like to get some shots of the Mummy. I could keep it in my pocket until I was away from the loading area. I just don't want the ride to stop because of me.

It is dangerous taking pictures on the mummy because of the roller coaster parts. Photography is prohibited for this very reason of safety.

Yes. Especially ROTM. Your camera would more than likely fly out of your hands and hit someone in the head, which you would be fully responsible for. Universal has cameras of their own all over their rides. Not only will the ride stop, they will yell at you over the intercom if they see you with a camera.

Last time we were there, they stopped the ride and took the guys camera. Talk about embarassing!!!!

First hand experience? I was spoken to once on Cat in the Hat.:rolleyes1 I just looked around like who the heck are they talking to and why would that person break the rules! I never did it again.

our homie is such a rebel, eh......

One time I had my digital camcorder out (really small, fits in my palm) in the que of the Mummy, one of the TMs saw it and made me get out of line and put it in a locker out front! Took me an extra 30 minutes to ride (wasn't onsite that trip) That was a bummer, he wouldn't just let me put it in the big pocket in my cargo shorts! Needless to say, I haven't done that again!!!!

Me too, I was so ashamed and my kids were like 'Mum, you're so embarrassing, put your camera away' :rotfl:

One time on DD they stopped the train about 1/2 way up the hill. They kept making the announcement for the person to put the camera away but they would not.
Someone had to walk up there and take it.

DH got yelled at on Cat in the Hat too..... :scared: whoops!

Safety comes first. Having cameras out on rides creates unsafe conditions. They may seem like "bad cops", but its for your safety.

oh, i know...but it was our first time on Cat, and i didn't realize there was "the spin" .....our bad!:rolleyes1

there was a guy wanting to take a cam-corder on ICE. it was not a small one and i was seated behind this person. The ride attendent asked him to leave it with a non-rider and was not getting anywhere. When the attendent again repeated his request i spoke up and said " get that camera off the ride or release the restraint so i can get off ". I am sure i was the bad guy but knowing how ICE loops i could see that guy loosing his grip and that camera coming back into me.
Unlike a flip flop coming off, that cam-corder could have done some damage had it hit someone. :cool2:

and how long after you yelled "get that camera off the ride or release the restraint so i can get off" did he get off?

they can't stop you from taking pics from the top of Dr. Doom...
True, but the Control Booth can opt to Not Start the ride if they see someone take a camera out. Once it goes to a certain step, though, it's a bad idea to stop the ride, but they can still yell at you prior to the launch.

Very, very dangerous. Especially on the Mummy ride (one of my favorites). I was even worried about wearing glasses on that ride!

The cat in the hat whirls around in a place or two and you should not take photos at all.
