rider switch

Will be using rider switch for the first time. I've read several threads and think I get it but still have a question. We get into the appropriate line, ask for rider switch. Then after the first person rides, the 2nd person gets to use rider switch as a fastpass. Is this right?
I'm just wondering because I've stood in some long fastpass lines and hoping it might be a bit better than this.

1. Yes.
2. If the attraction's FP line is backed up, the rider swap guests will be backed-up in it.
However, in most cases the FP line won't be backed up.

My main concern was Soarin'. I think the last 2 times, we waited 20-30 min in the fastpass line. Thanks for the replies.

the thing with rider swap is you don't have to use it right after the first ride. If the fp line is long, you can come back later.

Soarin' FP line should not normally be backed up, especially with the newly-added third theater in operation.

Robo - I forgot about the 3rd theater. We haven't been since they added it!

the thing with rider swap is you don't have to use it right after the first ride. If the fp line is long, you can come back later.

I was about to say the same thing. This is a very good way for you to use rider swap once things are more quiet or when the kids are doing something else (aka sleeping )
