There will be 3 adults and a very tall, yet chicken little 5 year old going this weekend lol. I was wondering how the child swap works? Will we be able to use this as an option or because there are 3 adults, will they expect us to split up and take turns standing in the whole line twice? Will they even let us use this option since she will be over the height requirement? Is it just for toddlers/babies, or can it be used with a child that is just too scared to ride? Thanks in advance!

Everyone stays in line, then the adult or adults stay with child in swap room, very near exit. When the person or persons done riding, they go to swap room, and one adult stays and others ride. So, the waiting with child do not have to stand in line, the team member will help them get right in the end of line, to ride, so child does not usually have to wait long, for all to exit the ride together. It is easy, and many of the child rooms have videos playing, so there is something to do while waiting. And waiting room is for any age, that wants to wait for other to ride, if they choose not to ride. Nice thing about child swap, no need for a locker. Have fun.

I think rider swap is a bit different now. I don’t think they are using the waiting rooms due to distancing. We saw a lot of families waiting near the exits and there was social distancing markers there. We assumed it was the waiting area for the swap, but aren’t sure.

Maybe someone that has recent experience will see this.

Thanks everyone for the advice. We did rider swap on Hagrids and it went off without a hitch. Very easy to do.

What was the current procedure?
We had to sign up at the back side of Olivanders by the stage and they gave us our time to come back. We came back about 20 minutes early to the same door and they got us in within about 5 minutes. They asked for the name of the person getting the wand and the show was personalized to her, using her name often. It was so cute! My niece was tickled and she bought her wand. She's about to turn 6 so she really thought she was doing that magic lol.

Thank you for reporting back! This will help a lot of people!
