rider swap - anyone use it?

how does it work? is it worthwhile with little ones? and how do you initiate it? thanks!

It's wonderful if you have older children and one (or more) too short to ride. We love it because it allows both DH and I to ride the attraction with our older kids.

It is very easy to use:
Your whole party approaches the CM at the ride entrance and ask for a Rider Switch pass. The first part of your group rides (either through the standby line or with FPs if you have them) while one adult waits with the little one(s). (You can get a snack, ride another attraction, or just wait near the ride exit.)

When the first group is done, the parent who waited and up to two people enter the FP line with the Rider Switch pass. (It can be used any time that day, does not have to be immediately after the first group is done.)

It is for rides with a height requirement and when you have someone too short to go on. Because all the other rides anyone can go on so no reason both parents can't go on at the same time.

We used it last year and it was GREAT! Definitely take advantage of it! The kid(s) that are tall enough to ride will absolutely love it as they get to ride twice! And we loved it because there are just some rides we don't want to miss like Soarin', Test Track, Splash, etc!

Rider switch is only offered for families who have a child who does not meet the height requirement.

You can get a rider switch pass at any of these attractions by showing them the too-short child. The pass works like a FP for up to 3 people.


The other info you may have read are situations where a child is scared/does not want to ride, but does meet the height requirement. These do not qualify for the rider switch, but you can talk to a CM at the ride and see if there is any way to accomodate you.

You can use it on any ride that has a fast pass line, in which one child is too small to ride.
If the fast pass line isn't open, you can't use it. My oldest 2 girls LOVE the rider switch because it means they get to ride everything twice !! Once with me and once with their dad.
