Ok, so I purchased a subscription to Ride Max. What am I missing here? I've run a bunch of different scenerios and it doesn't seem to make any sense. For example, at DCA, it has me getting there and doing first thing, the It's tough to be a bug kiddie section, and then waiting for 35 min for Toy Story Mania at 7 pm that day. Why would Toy Story not be the first thing I do? I always thought I read the Bug kiddie section was pretty slow anytime of the day? Same thing for DL. It puts me at Peter Pan with a 40 minute wait in the middle of the day, and starts me at something random like Storybook Canal. It seemed to have good reviews on this board so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what? Don't even get me started on the "ride BTMRR at 8:50, watch Fantasmic at 9 pm".

Guess I'll be going back to look at Touring Plans.

I had TP last year, it wasn't too bad. Those using Rider Max have always seemed happy with it. I'm sure one of them will have some tips for you.
Keep trying different options and see if the plans improve.

That is really odd...we are here now and using RM. It had us doing PP and TSMM first in my plans. Maybe try leaving the Bugs Life rides off your plans and fitting them in on your own when you have a break.

First, I have used both RM and TP and greatly prefer RM.

I would have to play around with RM to find out the answer to your question, but TSMM is a pretty unusual queue at DLR in that it tends to immediately go to full wait time and then go down from there. Also, is the day you are choosing an EMH day? My guess it is and that also would mean that TSMM already has a line when the park opens and hence it would be better to ride it at 7PM rather than the morning.

I have never used TP but LOVE Ridemax! Ridemax has been a life saver! I find you have to play around a bit with RideMax plans and keep on tweeking things to get a great plan. Toy Story gets backed up quickly especially on days that DCA has the EMH.

We were at DCA Wed, which was an EMH day and we did not have EMH. RM still had us doing TSMM first thing. We were there at park opening (for off site hotel guests).

Are you getting there at rope drop each day on the plan? How many rides are you trying to schedule? Do you have a lot of breaks--or even just one really long one? Those are all factors that can really have an impact on a plan.

In my own experieince, things got really strange on days I was trying to have table service meals AND shows. I would have 3 or 4 long breaks scheduled in, and it would make the ride order pattern seem totally random--because it was being forced to accommodate for all of the breaks.

The deal is that Ridemax minimizes--not eliminates--waiting. It may be that the 35 minutes at Toy Story is the best it can do based on the paramaters you have set. If you don't like the plan, then you have to change at least one of the parameters.

The advice to play around with it is the best advice. It is kind of time consuming, but honestly, I've used it 3 times, and the plans I've ended up using (often the 5th or 6th or 10th tweak) have been wonderful. It's never led me astray.

Without seeing your plan, my best guess is that HydroGuy is onto something here. Was this a plan created for a EMH day? (I've sent you a PM with more details.)

Ok, it was an early entry day. I figured there was something I was missing. I did set it to us arriving when the park opened. I didn't program in any breaks (although we wanted an afternoon break, it seemed to automatically give me one about that time anyway so didn't bother.) I will keep playing around.

So our first park day would be Sun. Nov 2. DL opens at 8 am that day. I had picked DL to start at since I have a 2 year old, and with very limited chances to see Fireworks and Fantasmic would need to be in DL that evening as well.

Do I start at DL Monday as well since it's early entry at DCA on Monday? Or just plan to start somewhere different in DCA that day? Somehow this seemed easier to plan parks and rides for WDW. I must be over thinking it.

I have never purchased Touring Plans but absolutely love Ridemax! Ridemax has truly made our four trips flawless. I have recommended Ridemax to many friends and they loved it too.
